We have the cellar door in an alcove. The door to outside faces it. We constantly put the cellar door knob through the wall. And this is just Dad and me, no kids!

As part of the kitchen renovation, that wall will be fixed up. I need a new door knob / latch what ever for the cellar door.

Thought I'd seen a recessed type door latch, with 3 prongs like the Mercedes Benz emblem, and you turn that. But I've been googling off and on for days with no luck finding anything.

Oh, there is no way to put in a pocket door, my cousin suggested that already.

If anyone is familiar with a door latch with minimal space, please let me know.

Would a doorstop like this (http://www.signaturehardware.com/class623?gclid=CLmuxo7C0pUCFQkiagod4VGujA) work on your door?

Or there are these (http://www.bizrate.com/homelighting/products__keyword--flush+door+pulls__prerd--1.html) too.

I'm not sure what stores you could find them in around you, but it's a start.
I'm searching stores now to see if I can find an actual store that may have something. I'll let you know what I find.

I found this (http://www.acehardware.com/product/index.jsp?productId=1297916&cp=&sr=1&kw=door+pulls&origkw=door+pulls&parentPage=search&searchId=37504885874)at an ACE Hardware. Not sure if it would work.

Still looking......

OMG that latch at ACE may be perfect! I need to go look at one (I know where a store is).

Thanks so much!

The others were door pulls, wouldn't work for a cellar door which needs to open and close from each side.

Door stops -- we've tried, believe me, we've tried.

Thanks so much!

Isn't PET TALK marvelous!
