Being that it's Thrusday's, How about a coffee ring, some blueberry cake, homemade icecream, and ORC! Fire up that See-ment mixer!

Get them slushies flowing!

I'll take my usual large Irish, and a toast to all our beloved RB pets here in the bar.

No lost and found for me! I believe I'm more lost than found at this point.

My poison..hmmm...

Can I have milk and cookies? Haven't had that in ages and it seems to be a nice comfort type food while we're toasting the pets that are no longer with us in person.

Gosh, I didn't even see that the bar was open. I normally don't drink during the week, but what the heck.

Hey Dickie, ;) I could use a large, tall, bloody mary with a skewer of prawns and cherry tomatoes...and please don't forget the garlic stuffed olives. Thanks.:)

Yes, it's wonderful that this website has been up for so long.

Gee when I think of Pet Talk I think of

dressing up at the airport
flower hat
how many PTers does it take to make lemonade
Zippy and the egg slicer
Peeps in the microwave
Gini and Laurie playing jacks
Mario....:(
field tripsI could go on and on but this is a bar for having phun, laughs, and remembering.

Cheers to Paul and Karen.

Thanks - and newcomers, the only admission price to this virtual bar is you need to tell one (clean) joke. I'm not saying it has to be funny, but you've gotta try, anyway! ;)

Blueberry cake! Whee! Last time I made that for a church function, I barely got a one-inch piece, so I'll take some here!

G'day All, and Happy Birthday Pet Talk. :D

Something different Richard I think.

Aah, a sparkling shiraz, Seppelts 98 would do, and a slice of black forrest cake, perhaps some fresh strawberrys too, just to round out the palate. :D

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PETTALK!!

I don't visit as much as I should these days. But you are still the best site around.

Here's to all who have made PT special.

to "Thursdays" of course. (background for newer folks - "Thursdays" sprung up at the beginning of the Iraq war. As you can guess by some of this years heated political threads, the early war threads could be quite passionate and divisive and we simply needed a place to wind down where attitudes were checked at the door and politics were not allowed.:D:D)

To the philisophy that "every pet is special" - and so is every pettalker.

Congratulations!!:D

Thanks - and newcomers, the only admission price to this virtual bar is you need to tell one (clean) joke. I'm not saying it has to be funny, but you've gotta try, anyway! ;)

Here's a nurse joke. In 20 years of nursing I've heard some great ones, but I like this one because it's clean...
Patient: "Nurse, I just swallowed my pillow!"
Nurse: "How do you feel?"
Patient: "A little down in the mouth."
-----
My niece, who is 17, an honor student, and blonde, collects blonde jokes. This is her favorite.

First experience horse riding

A blonde decides to learn and try horse back riding unassisted without prior experience or lessons. She mounts the horse with great effort, and the tall, shiny horse springs into motion.

It gallops along at a steady and rhythmic pace, but the blonde begins to slip from the saddle. Out of shear terror, she grabs for the horse's mane but cannot seem to get a firm grip. She tries to throw her arms around the horse's neck, but she slides down the side of the horse anyway. The horse gallops along, seemingly oblivious to its slipping rider.

Finally, giving up her frail grip, she leaps away from the horse to try and throw herself to safety.

Unfortunately, her foot has become entangled in the stirrup. She is now at the mercy of the horse's pounding hooves as her head is struck against the ground again and again. As her head is battered against the ground, she is mere moments away from unconsciousness or even death when Frank, the Wal-Mart manager runs out to shut the horse off.

It's rained steadily all day. Do we have a pot of coffee going?

Here's my joke. It's not funny, but I tried. And in keeping with the theme started by cassiesmom I'll go with a hospital related one:

The famous Olympic skier Picabo Street (pronounced Peek-A-Boo) is not
just an athlete. She is now a nurse currently working at the Intensive
Care Unit of a large metropolitan hospital. She is not permitted to
answer the hospital telephones. It caused too much confusion when she
would answer the phone and say,

Picabo, ICU

Prayers on the way! ;)

Folks might not know that, as children of a Swede for a Dad, coffee was very important. Even though I don't drink the stuff, I knew how to work the coffee maker at an early age ... and so did all of my siblings. Coffee + Swede = happy! ;) There's ALWAYS coffee on hand at Thursdays, folks!

Ohh, Happy Birthday indeed!

Have you ever tried to explain Pet Talk to a friend - non pet owner?
HA! Now try to explain Thursdays!

Even at my BBQ the firemen asked "what is Thursdays?" Let me tell you it took some doing with a straight face to try to explain.

A source of true joy - that's Pet Talk and Thursdays.

And let's hear it for our reliable (cough cough) bartender, Richard!

It's been a rough day - so I will opt for some of that strong Swedish coffee and some blueberry coffee cake.

And I send lots of love to all of you - and I LOVED the new jokes.

Hi everybody and HAPPY BIRTHDAY POTD!! I took some photos in honour of the occasion, hoping to get one that I might submit to Cat of the Day, but all I got was the back of heads, evil glares and flicking tails.

It's turned a bit nippy here tonight, an Irish coffee would be most welcome if you please.

Hey, last night I got given a piece of cheesecake free in the real world! They failed, twice, to make the pizza I ordered - those of us with food allergies don't have the luxury of saying "oh, I'll eat it anyway" and the guy who had taken the order originally insisted on sending me home with a piece of cheesecake for my trouble - not that I resisted that TOO hard ...

But iced tea and blueberry cake, please!

Karen,

So how is your arm today?

It must have hurt to have an appendage twisted in order for you to comply!;)

One Blueberry, (Mario) cake and some Iced tea?

DONE!

I stopped off at the store and bought some beer.

I set the beer on the floor and when I turned to grab one, SOMEONE had parked their rear next to the package and decided that a 'cold one' is a perfect place to park a warm head!

Karen
09-06-2008, 05:54 PM
Hee hee - I would never actually order a piece of cheesecake, as I try to be good about what I eat ad all that, but free cheesecake, well - hard to even pretend to resist!

Cold beer + white cat hair - does that mean, after drinking it, you won't get hung over, as you've already had "hair of the cat" so won't need a "hair of the dog" cure?

Well Mayor, you'll just have to come out here to NY next summer, with a pick-your-own blueberry place right down the road, I think we picked about 10 pounds of berries and made at least 3 or 4 blueberry cakes not to mention blueberry pancakes.

So there, I posted which means I don't have to go to the L+F. I'll have an irish coffee and some coffee ring! It's getting to be that time of year when I feel like I need to bake something.
