My friend Jessica gifted me with two of her geckolings this past weekend. The parents are Abby and King. I figured children of Nightstalkers should have nice vampire names. ;) So meet Alice and Esme!!

(Not sure of the sex yet, but hopefully they'll decide to stay female. *laughs* If not, a renaming will commence.)

You know you can't resist the cute!

So tiny!

And since it's been forever, here's some shots of the rest of the crew...

"Not So Baby" June - 50 grams

Mei - 43 grams - A patternless red I purchased a few months back. She was pretty underweight but I loved her color and demeanor. She's finally plumped up, but rarely fires up fully for me. This is the first time I've been able to get decent photos.

Thanks! :D

Are they hard to keep?
Not at all! :) Personally I think they are easier to keep than a leopard gecko because they don't need supplemental heat. They like a moderate humidity, so I only have to mist them once or twice a day. If I miss a day or two, it's not the end of the world. I can mist them on a Friday, go away for the weekend, and they are perfectly fine when I check them on Monday.

I feed them every three days. They get a wet meal (dry gecko food mixed with water) mainly and I give them crickets occasionally.

Wow, they are so fascinating to me! How come Nimrod doesn't have a tail? Is he a different kind?

Ashley
Nope! Nim dropped his tail a couple years back when something spooked him. They can drop their tails as a self defense mechanism, but unlike some lizards, cresteds don't grow their tails back. So he'll remain a frog butt. :D

Here's a shot of him with his tail, way back when...

(That's June next to him - she sure has grown!)

The crazy babies. I sometimes hear them flying around their little travel carrier they live in. They must be small for their age, since Jess said they're about 1 year old and they should be double that size. You can usually tell sex by 6 months, but neither one of these are showing what they are yet.

I don't want to hurt lizardy feelings so I won't name names, but the one that could pass as a Green Day album has always been my fav. ;)

 them all! And I can't believe how big Baby June is!
