I thought it was about time that I started introducing some of my furkids. It may take me a little while to get pictures of all of them. I'll start with these two. They showed up together as baby kittens 7 years ago. When Higgins came, his ear was wounded. A few days later he lost the tip of his ear. He's a funny looking cat. His teeth hang out sometimes and his tongue also slips out too. Thankfully, I don't have pictures of that at the moment. I took some of these with my cell phone. For some reason that seems to be easier than the regular camera. They always want to come over and look at the real camera. So anyway...
Here's Higgins!

Higgins ear just makes him more special, like Boo with her bad ear, it is part of their personality and makes them cutier! He looks 100% male too! What a prize to have!!

Lemon took my breath, what a BEAUTY!!!!!

Oh, two of my favorite colors of kitties!! :D
Higgins, I think your ear gives you character. You are one handsome grey guy! :)
And Lemon, you are so beautiful with your long black hair. LOVE it!! :D :D

I'm curious how you two got your names. :p

When Higgins and Lemon showed up, there was also a big cat with them that we thought was their mom. It turned out to be a neutered male. He was a Maine Coone and had beautiful green eyes. I usually give my animals people names. We were going to name him Peter, but my brother in law said he was too sophisticated for that name. So he became Mr. Jennings. Within a week or so, several more kittens showed up. I already had Morgan and Simone. I'd had a kitty named Olivia that had died with hepatitis a few months earlier. So needless to say with all the ones I already had and then this whole new crew showing up, I was running out of names. Higgins came from Magnum, PI. And Lemon would just lick and lick and lick until I couldn't stand it anymore. Somehow licking turned into Lemon. She's the only one of my pets without a person name. My mom says she's called Lemon because of her eyes. I know that was a long explanation for a boring story. In the upcoming posts you'll meet Jane, who is black without a white spot. She was just plain Jane. Then I have a Sydney. We weren't sure if she was male or female because she wouldn't let us close to her. After 7 years we still can't touch her. I was a big ALIAS fan. So she became Sydney after Sydney Bristow. If she'd been male it would have been Sidney. LOL In addtion to Morgan and the ones mentioned here, I also have Aroara, Juliet, Jose and Gary.

The first thing I thought of was Magnum PI when I read Higgins. LOL Loved that show! :D :D
Thanks for the explanation, it's not boring at all. I love names and love how people come up with them.

Wow, what beautiful kitties they are! Higgins is my favourite, he looks quite goofy too, but I love short haired cats. ;) His missing ear tip just gives him a little more personality. Lemon has such beautiful green eyes. :)

Higgins, I think that is a perfect name! You are so dignified and your right ear just gives you all the more character. And Lemon, I am with Medusa about your magnificent coat. How very nice to meet both of you today!

Higgins is quite the social guy. He's the only one of the outside crew that gets along with everyone else. Sometimes he hangs out with the front porch group, Lemon, Jane and Sydney (the ones that he showed up with) and other times he can be seen with the back porch monsters, Juliet, Jose and Gary. He also gets along with Morgan and Aroara. All the girls love him. He's a casanova to be sure!

Now, obviously not in order of the way they arrived here, here are pictures of the latest one to show up, Gary. I posted a thread (http://petoftheday.com/talk/showthread.php?t=141754&highlight=happening+again) about him a few months ago. I still haven't been able to trap him to get him to the vet. He is very particular about where he eats. If his bowl is moved, it walks right past it and stands where it should be. He's gotten much less scared of us. I've even touched his head and back a couple of times. Of course, I received a nice swat warning me to keep my distance once he realized the touches were coming from me and not Juliet! You can't see how funny he looks in these pictures. He's tall with awkward legs and a long body and a big head. You will be able to see in his eyes that he doesn't like being looked at. He was quite concerned with the camera. Once he noticed me pointing it at him he would run a little farther away. There's no real story to how he got his name. My oldest neice helped me name him. It was the first thing she thought of. As I mentioned in the other thread, I thought that was an appropriate name since our own Gary here takes in and is kind to kitties without homes. Anyway, enough chatter, here are pictures!

Gary is the one farthest from me. Juliet is in the middle and Jose is eating.

Then he ran off the porch.

See that look in his eyes! LOL

Then he thought he was safe around the corner a bit.

Then he ran off some more. After this one I decided to leave him alone and let him come back and eat. He was almost already back on the porch before I could close the door!

One of these days I'm going to capture him and get him to the vet! I'm just not sure how yet.

Gary looks like one of the ferals that used to come around my old house. I called him Ol' Tom. He was meaner than a rattlesnake and he was the only one that I had trouble trapping. It didn't do any good anyhow. He made his way back from the house of his new family and stayed at my old house after that. I hope you have better luck w/Gary than I did w/Ol' Tom, Moesha.

WELL GARY IS A MUCH HANDSOMER CAT, THAN I AM AS A PERSON, AND I KNOW THAT THE PET ANGELS ARE GIVING HIM A QUIET TALK ABOUT HOW IT MAY NOT BE THE WORST IDEA IN THE WORLD TO GO TO A KIND HEARTED LADY WHO HAS LOTS OF FOOD.
THAT ARGUMENT HAS ALWAYS CONVINCED ME IN THE PAST YEARS!!!
GOOD LUCK WITH MY LITTLE NAMESAKE!!:love:

He's beautiful! I love his eyes and his perfect tabby markings.

This part makes my eyes leaky...

My oldest niece helped me name him. It was the first thing she thought of. As I mentioned in the other thread, I thought that was an appropriate name since our own Gary here takes in and is kind to kitties without homes.

Higgins is so cute with those fangs hanging out on either side. I just love that! :) It's so sweet that all the girls love him. :love:And Lemon is nothing short of stunning!! That reddish auburn colour that is mixed in through her long black fur is so pretty.
Gary sure does have those puffy Tomcat cheeks! I see what you mean about his long legs and big head. He is a neat looking guy! He sounds like he is a fellow who likes his 'routine' and doesn't like things changed up too much, like his food bowl! lol I can just imagine him walking past the new location for the food and saying "I'll be at my usual table". I hope you will be able to catch him at some point to get him snipped. :)
Juliet is a pretty cat with those white boots! And Jose looks to be quite big from that picture!
I look forward to seeing pics of the rest of your furfamily!
P.S. I was pretty sure you were an Alias fan because of your Avator. :)
