I made a little shelf yesterday, painted it black and finished it this morning, now it's in its place in the hall... I found out that making furniture is a lot of fun (already made a little table for my kitchen last winter), but I don't have the right equipment, like a workbench, so my options are limited... BTW, I spent too much money on the deco stuff, but I couldn't resist when I saw these little candle holders and the glas bowl at the do-it-yourself-store. :o
Here's my little shelf (However, the kitty deco on the right is beyond any price... ;)). I'm also thinking about painting the walls terracotta-colored, just in case I decide not to move after all...

(Sorry for the bad quality of the photos, I was too lazy to change the settings on my flash :o)

Wow Kirsten, that is great. If I only had half of your skills.........
And of course the kitties know what to do to make a stylish environment even better ;)

Good job! Looks like she's contemplating whether to try stretching out underneath it or not!

So true! :) But she was actually waiting for the reflection on the wall from the camera's flash.

Wow, I really like it! You did an amazing job. :)
Making furniture was one of my favorite things that I did with my dad. And I have to agree, it is really fun! I can't imagine what wonderful things you could create if you had more equipment.

VERY nice! I especially like the tiger stripes (you knew I would ;)) Did you hand paint them or glue down decorative paper?
I wish I had the patience to make nice furniture like that.

Thank you! :)
Well, the stripes are actually zebra stripes, and it's a paper called Decoupage which is glued to the surface. You can do so many cool things with Decoupage, it's really an inspiration. Look here: Decoupage (http://images.google.de/images?source=ig&hl=de&rlz=&=&q=decoupage&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wi)
