I posted this a few hours back, titled: Ozzy in his puppy cut. Then I realized: Aug 2 at 4 PM, both Ozzy and Marlin have been a part of my house for a full year! They arrived here as fosters a whole 12 months ago, wow! http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q57/sfsamm/Siggy/gotchajpg.png boys!

Gave the dogs their baths on Jul 23rd (I am so far behind posting on here, they are due for baths again!) and gave them all the trim called "puppy cut." Ozzy looks adorable, if I DO say so myself!

Ozzy with a "duck tender" (dried duck dog treat)

And THEN, Marlin did a "frog dog!" He is almost 10 and has never done this in the (almost) year he has been here!

That's exactly what I was thinking! Can't think of a better place for you boys to wind up and I know you agree with me! ;) Sandie they look so cute and I love the frog leg picture! :D I had a toy poodle years ago who laid like that occasionally. :) Ozzy.... Bella and and Ripley said to tell you that your duck tender looks yummy! They have never had those and are now begging me for one. :p Just the other day I was given a rawhide-looking thing at the pet supply store where I buy their food. It is made of fish cartilege. The store owner said to get back to him with input on how the dogs liked it but I haven't given it to mine yet. Have your furry ones ever had that?

Thanks much for the nice comments, everybody!

I've seen them, haven't tried them. Mine get constipated with raw hide, so I usually avoid anything which looks like that. The duck tenders are made by Vitalife (you can google that) and I bought them at PetsMart. I think PetCo also carries them.

I think of frog dog the same way I think of humans doing a split: youngsters can do it, but as we age our joints just don't have the flexibility. As Marlin is now 10, it amazed me to see him in that pose!

Happy Gotcha day, Marlin and Ozzy!! :D You boys are so very loved, is Ozzy still a foster? ;) (sorry if he isn't, just never caught the thread announcing his adoption or anything)

It was the puppy cut, it made Marlin feel like a puppy again. :D I have always loved the puppy cut, it is sooo cute and fluffy.

Happy Gotcha day, boys!!! I would say that I am sure that your family has something special planned, but I have a feeling every day is special in your house. :)

is Ozzy still a foster? ;) (sorry if he isn't, just never caught the thread announcing his adoption or anything)
Technically, Ozzy is a foster because we have a 3 dog limit in my city. But I spoke with the rescue group and he is no longer posted for adoption. He is here to stay! I never announced it, you didn't miss anything. That happened back on March 27th. I did this for Ozzy.

At 15 +, he can't see well, can't hear well, sometimes gets "lost" in my kitchen and cries until one of us gets him and reorients him. I've noticed when he walks he keeps close to a wall or the furniture. It wasn't right that he may have to learn a new home at this age! Plus, the rescue kept saying he was ideal for a single, older person. In that case, Ozzy would just sleep his life away! With 3 other dogs and (now) 11 cats, he is at least alert and listening, trying to follow what is going on. Sugar is just fantastic with him! When I take the 4 dogs for walks, she lets Ozzy put his shoulder to her rear hip and he follows her along!

Adopting a 15 year old with all his health issues is a huge undertaking, both financially and emotionally. I felt it was the best thing for Ozzy. And to me, that is part of rescue: doing what is right for this animal at this time.

Thanks for asking!

Freedom ... this story, plus the thought of your Dad with white fluffy Bichons on his lap, makes my eyes all leaky. You are very special indeed. Happy Gotcha Day, Ozzy and Marlin!

Thank you all, for the kind wishes and comments.

I sent the link for this thread to Ozzy's first foster mom, out in Colorado. She loved the pics of Ozzy and comments, "seems like Everybody Loves Ozzy!" :D
