This is someone I know locally, and to me, he doesn't fit the "image" of the profession. BTW - that's a Blackberry he was taught to use by a woman 20 years his senior!

(NO, it wasn't ME! LOL....I still need to GET a Blackberry!)

He makes Blackberries.

But just learned to use one...that would figure! LOL! No - but he doesn't give raspberries either! :D

I'll give this the rest of the business day, then post the result.

I keep checking back to find out what this guy does!!
He reminds me of the actor Tom Skerritt in his younger days.
I'm going to guess he is a mechanic. (Only because he doesn't look like he would be.) He looks like he would be a teacher.

He looks like a professor, so I guess that's NOT the answer.

Um.... he answers all those 900 number calls "Hey baby... whatcha wearing?"

Hmmm, he looks kinda preppy. Just a smidgen of nerdy. He looks like he is very clean, neat and orderly. So, to go with the opposite (in my opinion) of all that........... My guess would be garbage man.

Hmmm, I was going to say a janitor because he doesn't look the part. Actually, he does remind me of some of the priests that I worked for a few years back. He's pretty cute. :p

He looks like he could very well be an Anglican priest, I don't know why you think he doesn't look the part ...

In the first post, I said "to me" he didn't 'look' like a priest...many clergy wear their collar even when they wear everyday clothing. But Greg doesn't.

I guess I should have been clearer, Karen, and not "led" the guessing so much. But - it was fun! :D

Our church is lucky to have him...he is just who he is, no airs or anything. I have met many wonderful members of clergy, but none quite so grassroots as Greg.

He is married to a neat woman who he describes as a "recovering social worker"(she has kept her maiden name - it's a her/his hyphenated surname); they have two daughters, are ovario-lacto vegetarians, and are owned by two cats! :)

The guessing was fun, but I know several priests who are good looking and trendy (one of them wanted to date me, but I wasn't available, haha). :) Not sure if that's what you meant by him not looking the part, though.

I laughed when I read what he was. Look ARE deceiving. My very first boyfriend is now a Pashionist Priest. He's P.A. (physician's assistant) and runs an orphanage in Haiti. He's very handsome. He made a deal with God that if his Dad pulled through his heart attack, he would devote his life to him. By golly he did!!! Whenever he's in Connecticut visiting his parents, we get together for dinner and catch up. He's VERY easy on the eyes and has a sense of humor that would make even God blush!!! The cross I wear around my neck (I never take it off) was blessed by him so it has great meaning to me.

I think he looks the part very well. I went to church with a friend and the Pastor dressed in cowboy boots, jeans and a leather vest. I'm not a church person, but he was a lot of fun. :)

It's great to hear that so many clergy have 'broken the mold' and let themselves be just people - which they are! No more 'airs and uniforms'!

Of course, Greg and others wear vestments for services - at the beginning of one, I leaned to the person next to me and said I really liked a man in uniform! :D They laughed.

I would love to meet a cute single male member of the clergy - but hokey smokes, I sure hope the perception of priests' wives has changed!

Actually, he fits his profession quite well. I can easily see him as a priest.
