I do & there is going to be a TV program about them & the different
Sanctuarys devoted to them. It will be on 20/20 at 10pm on Friday. I've
always thought they were fascinating animals. I enjoy seeing Elephants
in a natural setting.:)

One of the sanctuaries visited is The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee.
It's rare for anyone but the keepers to get to go inside with them.

Wow, that sounds really interesting. Thanks for the heads up. I am going to send the link to one of my co-workers as well.

Elephants are a very interesting study. Surprising the emotions they have and fell. A lot smartwer than we think they are.

That sanctuary in Hohenwald, TN is amazing. There are some unbelieveable stories from there. My sister used to have the checks that gave some of the proceeds to the sanctuary. They used to have an elephant camera where you could watch them online. I don't know if that is still on their site or not.

Thanks for the link! I love elephants, have always been fascinated by them, and they have always touched my heart. I wish mankind would have treated them better in the past... :( We did so many horrible things to them, and still do. :(

Isn't the sanctuary in Tennessee the one where Maggie went to, the old elephant from the Alaska zoo?

I don't see Maggie listed on their website (http://www.elephants.com). The elephantcam is still there, although I don't see any this morning.

Just checked Maggie's website again; she's at the PAWS sanctuary in Northern California: Friends of Maggie (http://www.friendsofmaggie.net/) :)

Awesome. Tears of sadness. Tears of delight. Beautiful creatures. Their stories are fascinating. Thanks again, Liz, for the heads up.
