So I don't know how to create an invoice, never had to until now. I just ended doing a project with someone, and she wants me to create a invoice so how would you create one? I am lost. I have 98' Microsoft Word.. Thanks.

I do all mine on Excel - that way I know it adds up properly ;) If you want I could email one of mine to you to use

Just make up some letterhead, then put her name and address at the left. In the center of the page put "Invoice" and then below that, list whatever work you did, and what it costs her.

It doesn't need to be fancy, but businesses need invoices for their records.

Make sure you date it as well.

You can download excel templates from the web. Here's a listing for "invoice". http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templates/results.aspx?qu=invoice&av=TPL000

And give it a number!

When you decide which layout you want to use, stick to it and make a template for future use! ;)

Of course, if you have InDesign on your machine, you can design your own.

I don't know about on a computer, but office supply stores sell sales reciept books with lines for adding individual items which is basically an invoice.

Is this person from a business needing an invoice for a tax write off? If so then you have to be sure to include your income on your taxes or the IRS tracks it back to you and sees it as tax evasion.
