Yep, they have a similar race in Nevada...run by the Rotary club as well I believe. They float the ducks down the Truckee river there.

Karen, we do have snails in Nevada but they don't get nearly as big! They sure as heck aren't everywhere either...mostly they are in the mountains and only then in the spring and summer.
