Alrighty....I need some links or information for Pit Bulls. Some friends of ours got a 10 week old Plantation Bull Terrier. After emailing some breeders, I learned that this breed doesn't exist. I figured the friends purchased the puppy from a BYB. Anyway...they don't have time to train him or really spend any time with him and I need some PB resuce information for either Michigan or Ohio. Any help would be appreciated. Tyson is almost 6 months old now.

I found the following sites. I am not sure of their location, but contacting one of them might lead to you finding one in your area. http://www.cyberpresence.net/pbrc/ http://thepitbullrescue.homestead.com/ http://www.pitbulls.com/ http://www.pbrc.net/email.html http://www.dogcircle.com/fetch/Breed_Rescue/American_Pit_Bull_Terrier/

Good luck with your hunt. It is nice to see someone care about these misunderstood dogs.

how topical.. just the other day my neighbor, who has a pit bull, told me she had called the local police dept for a training course so the dog could be a better watch dog!! of course they thought she was nuts. "Loco" is the most adorable, friendliest, affectionate dog. She said I was the only person he figuratively "flips" for-he goes completely submissive when he sees me and wants hours of tummy rubs. We think that he and my dog are fighting for my affection-it's really funny

I can't believe how lovable Tyson is...I took him to the dogpark and everyone just ooo'd and ahh'd over him. I even had one couple come back in to get a better look at him and then they asked me when I usually come to the dog park.

My mother in law is also interested and a nice lady from Ohio who has two of her own, fosters a third one and she just adopted her foster and has room for the little guy.

So that's encouraging...I wish we could keep Tyson, he's so adorable, he cracks me up with his facial expressions and his pure joy to see me when I come home.

I have to agree. I have a pit bull mix and she is the most loving dog I have ever had. My lab is more aggressive than she is -- so much for the sterotype!

Pits are so maligned it's awful. Every Pit I know is sweet, gentle, loving and a kisser. My dad has a Pit/Lab mix who has the biggest, friendliest heart on the planet.

Can't judge a book by it's cover....! my neigbors' pit is so huggy, kissy and sweet she wanted our local police dept to train him to be a guard dog. They thought she was nuts. He's friendlier than my GR/YL Mix. Hey! is this "dog profiling?" there outta be a law.........
