Give Homeless Animals a Sign of Hope
With the continuing problems of cruel puppy mill breeding and outrageously high euthanasia rates, it's more crucial than ever that those who support animal welfare make their voices heard. Petfinder.com would like to send supporters yard signs to be placed in front of their homes or businesses, showing support for the adoption of homeless pets. The yard signs would be 18" x 24" with a slogan supporting adoption. The signs can stay up for any amount of time you like, you will not be obligated in any way, and you will be doing a huge part to spread awareness about the importance of adoption!

If you would like a yard sign, please send an e-mail by Thursday, May 29, and let us know. Atlanta Animal Rescue Friends (AARF) is partnering with Petfinder on this awareness campaign. Thank you for your support!

Make sure it's legal in your town/city/village to post them. Some jurisdictions have laws as to size of sign, placement and length of time they can be kept up. I'm a big, big supporter of Petfinder!

Ooooh I want one, too! Maybe my school will let us put one up, eventhough it's hard to see anything other than our school's sign from the main road, maybe we can put it by our school's main sign!

What information do we need to give?

The Free Sign isn't quite such a sure thing. :(

We just received this e-mail in response to our request for a sign >>>

Thank you so much for your interest in the Petfinder.com yard signs!

We’re still in the planning stages of this effort and are working on
the logistics of printing, distribution, etc. We hope to launch a pilot version
of the program in Georgia to help us find the best, most cost-efficient way
to get the signs to our supporters. If you live outside Georgia, however,
and have sent us your address in response to the widely cross-posted email message,
please know that you WILL be hearing from us in coming months.

The initial response to this idea has been tremendous, and it is
very encouraging and heartening to know there is so much strong support
and concern for animal welfare across the country.

Thank you for helping to spread the message of Petfinder and pet adoption.
Your support very literally saves lives.

Yours truly,
India Powell
Education/PR Director, Atlanta Animal Rescue Friends Inc. (AARF)

I got the same response. I'm kind of bummed but it makes me want to make my own signs.

It doesn't mean we won't get any; seems like this was originally intended only for Georgia residents in the first place and it just got cross posted and cross posted until EVERYONE nation wide was wanting some. I'm sure they didn't plan on this huge peak of interest from everyone!

They did say we'll be hearing from them, though, so who knows maybe now they know that a lot more people are interested, they'll make more signs and give them to us the time time around :)
