I was walking down the road when I hear, "Mister, do you need a kitty kat? I was wondering because I don't have no place to go and I'm all alone and I need someone to take care of me, so I was just wondering if you might need a kitty kat?"
I looked down and took a look at the most pitiful looking creature you ever saw. With no sign of a tail but a boldness not to be resisted, Bobtail was asking me to take him home with me. I did, of course, but the name "Bobtail" was too obvious, so I gave him his current name of Thumper.
Soon after his arrival, Thumper showed his true self. He is not a kitty after all: he's a ham!

And he loves to play. He has a bad knack of finding even smaller creatures in the yard, such as this frog, which I promptly rescued:

There is another peculiar thing about Thumper: I get the impression that he thinks he is a dog. If ever I need to find Thumper, all I have to do is look for either Oscar or Sam:
