Lately the Edster goes on to my mom's house and hangs out. It's been cool and the fireplace is going, so he flops about the recliner.
He warms his buns there and when he really wants to get comfortable he climbs into the recliner. When I go over to check on him I catch him on the floor or in my spot (recliner). He spends most of the day, when he is at home, on my recliner. I usually just pick him up, which interrupts his deep sleep, and I get growled at, nipped and scratched. Not a pretty sight, for sure.
When I try to reclaim the recliner in my mom's house, she gets snitty and tells me to, "Leave him alone!" This totally sucks because I want to visit for a while and she makes me feel guilty that I even want to touch him.
This afternoon he was there, acting like a DIVO (That's a male cat DIVA) and I wanted to sit.
-------------
I thought about it for a few seconds and reached into the magazine holder next to the chair and pulled out a bag of Temptations.
I made sure that the bag crinkled extra loudly and was in plain sight.
I opened the bag, that brought his head up.
I put some in the little box where his treats go- That made him stand up.
I set the box on the floor and that got him off the chair!
My mom, watching the whole incident, called it a dirty rotten trick.
The only way to defend myself was to let her know that we both got what we wanted.
He got his treats, I got the chair and I got with with none of the guilt or puncture wounds.
She still wasn't convinced.......I wasn't either, but I saved face and blood!
