Hello all,
I hope this letter finds you well and happy.
I am back from my travels. I had the most wonderful time of my life, did not want to return to the states, of course I had to.
I am more determined then ever to move to England. Have wanted to live there since I was 14 and had this wonderful image in my mind, was a bit afraid I would be disappointed. Just the opposite in fact. England was 100 times more wonderful then even my dreams. How often does that happen in real life?
Hardly ever. London is the coolest, most lovely city one can ever imagine.
I saw so many incredible sights. Big Ben, Stonehenge, Windsor Castle, St Paul's, The Tower, Hampton.
Went to the West end and saw Phantom of the Opera as only the British can do.
My hotels were all magnificent and the food was as wonderful as any 4 star restaurant, sort of like a cruise where there are endless dishes upon dishes of incredible yummy choices. I ate a lot and walked even more. The Brits walk all the time, I only saw three overweight people the whole time I was there.
Happy to say I did not gain a pound, however I spent many a pound. I shopped and shopped and shopped. What fun.
Harrods was so exquisite. If you want to buy a fossil for two million dollars go up to the fifth floor and you will find them.
I saw this cute little red purse for Alicia I SO wanted to buy. But at $500.00 American dollars or $250.00 pounds it was a bit out of my price range. Saw a lime green raincoat she would have looked darling in $400.00. Ouch!!! http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/mesg/tsmileys2/11.gif
Harrods is the place to shop if you are Paris Hilton, or Jennifer Aniston otherwise it's a bit pricey.
On May 19Th which was Monday I went to The Tower and to Westminster. May 19Th would have been my mom's 83 birthday.
It was also the day Anne Boleyn was beheaded. Anne was the mom of Elizabeth the first. I said a prayer at the spot of her beheading, (Tower Green) and also were she was buried. I saw Traitors Gate and Elizabeth's tomb along with her sister, Mary and also their cousin Mary Queen of Scots. I saw tombs dating back a thousand years.
I saw Leeds castle the loveliest in the world and walked in the rooms. I went to Hampton and it took my breath away.
My entire stay was one of wonder and awe. So much beauty and history.
I stood in front of St. Paul's and walked down the very isle Princess Diana walked on her wedding day. Amazing.
Well I am off. I have wash to do, bills to pay, shopping to do. And tons more. I will be posting some of the pictures on-line.
Hope everyone has a great day. Marigold2
