Right now I am very worried. LB (Little Bear) has been a great foster mom, too good. She does not want to leave the kitten (Lucky). LB is drinking but I don't believe that it is enough. She almost stopped eating, just a few nibbles at night. The little one is growing but slowly, it is getting mike form LB and 3 times a day we have been giving the formula. SO 3:30 this afternoon we go see the white coats.

It Might Just Be That Lucky Is Growing A Little More Slowly, But Will Soon Pick Up Weight , As I Know The Vets Have Many Formulas To Help.
The Best Ive Used Is Royal Canin Baby Kitten Food Dry.
And Having Little Bear Be A Doting Momma Is A Big Asset And She Will Keep Lucky Clean And Warm.
I Know Eukanuba Has Some Excellent Canned Foods For Small Kittens Too, Lets Hope That You Find Just The Right Formula.

Hey LB, there's a lot of good foods around, TASTE it!

Keep up the good work, Gill. Hope the white coats have a simple answer.

oh my goodness...I just saw this thread Gill. How is everyone doing?? Please let us know...I am so worried about LB! Not that I'm not worried about Lucky, I was just sooo attached to LB.

I did get those papers sent out...finally. I had asked Steve to do it last week and with the move he must have forgotten. I found them by the computer on tuesday morning and got them in the mail that afternoon.

Try feeding LB some of the kitty milk using a dropper...she would NEVER say no to that when she was here. For a while she wasn't eating much for us either, but I started with the milk in a dropper and heating some wet cat food and water all mixed up into a slush and she would drink of the water and in doing that, consume some of the food. I also used to set her in my lap facing me with her front paws on my left leg and let her lay there while she ate/drank.

Oh how I miss that kitty...please please please let us know what is happening.

Gill, I am just now seeing this thread. I pray that LB got a good diagnosis from the vet! I'm hoping that maybe she just is ready to quit nursing? I'm not up to date on her story. Please update us soon!

Visit went GREAT. We prefer to see Dr. Mike or DR. Connelly at the Hodes group. Dr Mike is a cat specialist. LB was constipated, and had ear mites. The ear mites are gone and she cleared the constipation on the way home. Her congestion seems too be clearing. As soon as the kitten is weaned she will be on antibiotics if the congestion has not cleared. Her hip was checked and does not seem too be a problem. Even with the weird walk, she does have full movement. She was so good at the vets. She is now on Kitten food and last night ate half a bowl. We hope to add a little weight to her. The little one, Lucky had infection in the belly button and his eyes are starting to open. So right now both seem to be in good health, aside from LB being a bit under weight.

*whew!*

Glad LB will be feeling so much better, and great for Lucky. Being a kitten food piggy! :D

Am so glad they have bonded. Even if they go to a new home, they will have to go together. ;)

First as far as the CH we are still not sure. All we know is that she is a lover all the way. Thank you Cristy. As soon as you pick her up she purr's. OH just give her a couple of head strokes and she's purring.
This is also way my wife and I can not foster, once their in our house it is permanent. The only one in the house that has a problem is ET, but then again she has a problem with every thing, even a ray of light gets hissed at. It looks like every thing is moving along the way it should. The only problem is with 12 babies in the house from 8 days to 11 years we are full. My wife just says we need a bigger house.

you and your wife are such wonderful people...I thank god for all you have done all the time! I'm assuming that the Dr. told you Lucky had just been born when Steve found her...wow!

GILL - you don't need a bigger house. Just build one of those outdoor enclosures - for you and your wife. ;):D
