I have a couple of ornamental ponds in my back yard. Last year I had a bunch of toads "mating" in it. They make a loud noise when they are calling to each other. This year they came back to mate. Last year I never noticed tadpoles. Yesterday Carl and I were putting the pumps in to start the waterfalls again and look what we found.

They are thousands of them! They are everywhere you look in the pond. We have goldfish in the pond so I am sure some of them will be eaten but even if an 1/8 of them live there are going to be a lot of toads around our house. It is so hard to believe. And I wonder how I missed the tadpoles last year. It will be fun to watch them grow into toads too.

That a lot of tadpoles!!! Should be alot of fun keeping track of them as they grow! I just hope they are smart enough to stay out of the dog area once they start hoping around!!!

When I was a kid, we always got a surprise when we took the pool cover off each summer. My favorite was the year it was filled with tadpoles :). My least favorite was the year it was filled with mosquito's :(

Another Mother of Many! :)

Are ya gonna NAME 'em as TaddyPoles or wait till they're Hoppy Toads?

They should help to hold down the Mosquito population in the yard!

I wonder how many will survive, between birds and fish? It's always fun watching them grow, though.
