She is a Lab mix about 1 year old or less who i've named Gabby. My grandparents found her and wanted to keep her but realized that she is way too much dog for them. I might be getting her the end of this week so be looking out for a picture thread.

Wow, good luck! Let us know whatever interesting story behind her being found? Hope your 3 are agreeable to her joining. Oh, and hope she is OK with cats and the other critters.

She is ok with cats my grandmother has 3 cats and she gets along with them just fine. If they run from her she will chase them but not hurt them. My cats though aren't fearful of dogs so they shouldn't run from her. Well Gabby was abandoned in my grandmothers front yard i'm guessing. She had a rough places around her neck like someone took her collar off and she was a little bit underweight. She was fed by my grandmother and someone else down the road and she would go back and forth (major highway) she would sleep on my grandmothers front porch every night and in the morning go down the road and swim in the neighbors lake. My grandmother asked them if she belonged to them and they said no she just showed up one day. She also put an ad in the paper and looked for lost dog signs and ads in the paper but never found one. She then decided to keep her so she put her in her fenced in back yard. Lately she has gotten more used to her surroundings and started jumping up on my grandmother. She knocked her down onces and my grandmother has a bad knee so jumping on her hurts her knee. They still have their mini longhaired dachshund Hogan so they are happy. Gabby seems to get along with other dogs. I'm most worried about Maggie as she is very dominant but she does enjoy playing with playful submissive dogs which Gabby seems to be. I will have to see how it goes! My dogs are good and pretty much get along with everyone.

Yeah she is very playful but sweet. She will wrap her paws around you and give hugs. My RB Zoe used to do that. She needs way more stimulation, training, and exercise than my elderly grandparents can give. (74 and 84) This girl will fetch until you are too tired to throw the ball anymore. I am worried though because she is a lab and likes to swim and I have a pool. I will have to train her not to get in. Although I shouldn't have to worry because she won't be out off leash.

Thanks guys! Do you think she is a lab x siberian husky? She has kind of a husky face.

Hummm... I don't know what she could me mixed with, whatever other breed(s) she has in her is where that tail came from!

In the picture with the ball in her mouth I almost see a Chow shaped head.

She's a cutie!
Congrats!

Well my mom was going to bring her home today but she is scared to try to control such a big dog in her car by herself so sunday me and my dad are going to go and give her a bath and nail trim and actually have a collar and leash with us.

That is one BEAUTIFUL dog! :)
I'm thinking she looks like a Chesapeake Bay Retriever cross.
Here are some pics of Chesapeakes. They have the square-ish heads and the tails are a bit bushy and they sure LOVE water!

She could be a chesepeake bay retriever cross but she also looks like a lab to me. She looks different now than she did in those pictures taken over a month ago though. Her fur is darker and she has filled out alot more. She came a little skinny. I'm sad I didn't get to go pick her up today. My grandparents live over an hour away so it's hard to go up there. Maybe sometime this week. All I know is she is mine and I can't wait to get her. :D
