This is a paragraph from the actual act - not passed yet - that is being touted as toughening up product and import regulations in Canada. Some news stories are implying that it will cover pet foods and products also.

“consumer product” means a product, including its components, parts or accessories, that can reasonably be expected to be obtained by an individual to be used for non-commercial purposes, including for domestic, recreational and sports purposes, and includes its packaging.

I guess "domestic purposes" could cover pets?

Link to one of the news stories is here....let's keep our fingers crossed...

Lets pray that this will really happen and is not some cheap politicing for an upcoming election.
They should have had this law in effect years ago, but you politicians are in the hip pockets of the rich.

Oh, that's wonderful. Canadians, call/write/e-mail your elected representatives to get this law passed and make sure it covers pet food too!

Now to get something like this passed in this country too!
