Easy to find in the dark.

Eating chocolate, chocolate cookies while the cat is in you lap
makes the crumbs easy to see.

White hair + white t-shirts= no problemo!

White hair and white sheets? Again, no problemo!

Dirt level, easy to see!

You can own a white cat after Labor Day.

Pure as driven snow.

White goes with everything!

Great conversation piece.

White is virginal!

I love the line about being able to be seen in the dark. It has saved Andy from being stepped on at night more than once. :p

Andy couldn't agree more and sends lots of happy meows to the Edster. ;)

Miss Reese is a white cat. True, she does have a small cap of light grey, but she considers that her tiara.

White is also good when a fur baby flashes by, you can always tell the white one. Our Lenny is partially deaf also. Luv them all

I can't agree more with white cats. I love my little man Hermes.

I rescued him when he was about 4 months old and he was just so sick and now he's a healthy big boy except for him having herpes but we love him.

Gee, I've been missing out on a good thing...all my cats have been black, black & white, gray, tuxedo, tabby and orange.

Maybe I need to expand my horizons?? ;)

You can spill sour cream, cream cheese, whipped cream or mayonaisse on them with no fear of staining.

Ah that was so funny to read Richard, however Miss ellie has lot of white on her, and when you wear alot of black clothes as I do, not so good lol,one slight dis-advantage,however cassiesmom said it well, but yes the advantages out weigh the disadvantages for sure. ;)

Flecks from destroyed styrofoam boxes blend in with fur. :D

Cassie Cat's fur doesn't show when I wear grey or black. My nephew's cat Milo has a white undercoat and when I come home from there, it's not the orange cat hair so much as the shorter white hair that's all over me. But I don't mind because Milo likes to plop on me!

And its interesting what my friend Helen of Aniaml Welfare tells me that White Ctas are the first ones adopted and that pure White Cats are fairly rare.
I did not know that, I guess thats one reason the Edsters so special.

I have come to think that white cats have an extra special lovebug gene. There is nothing scientific in my theory other than the fact that Andy is the super cuddily one of my two. He will sit in my lap and purr and drool until the cows come home. Of course he is the biggest scaredy cat also. I have to tell people to trust me that I really do have a white cat because he hides at the sign of an *intruder.* Anyone else have a white cat that is particularly lovey and cuddily? (oops! :o Sorry to take your thread off in another direction Richard.)

I have seen this one in action: any stray grey hair on your clothes, regardless of source, can be passed off as "Oh, cat hair again," as if grey hair could never have come from one's OWN head!

Interesting tidbit:

cats will be attracted to the person with the most contrasting clothing to their fur

case and point, I have 2 white cats and a light colored lilac point. Whenever hubby wears black clothes those 3 cats just flock to him and won't get off his lap!! (on the flip side the darker colored ones seem to flock to him when he wears white) ROFL :D

I think the thread states why white cats are good to own....any good reason is good enough.

The Edster is all about love too.

I can sit down in any chair and in less than a minute he's at my feet, ready to have his arse slapped vigorously or his is in my lap.

He don't drool, but he always steps on my bits.

My youngest brother isn't a cat fan but I love to see the look of distaste on his face when he gets sideswiped. :D

I'll have to remember the white hair line!

Theory about cat hair: She can somehow make it turn color just enough that it will show, no matter what I have on. Today I am wearing a grey sweater and I had to take the lint roller to it - to pick up brown (?!) cat hair. [Seriously- her coat gets a little more brown than grey as she spends time in the sun] And orange cat hair, from fur-nephew Milo? Forget it! Shows up on everything. It's a darn good thing I love that cat so much! I also hugged and snuggled him like crazy last time I was there, and I put on my coat without using the roller first. So, now the orange cat hair that was on me then is on other clothes too. But that's okay. I figure cat hairs are the only kind of fur I'll ever wear.

I knew there was a good reason why I love Farmboy cat so much (he's a white cat)!

Last night I had spaghetti and fruit punch Kool-Aid.

I usually do the low voltage/green approach to cooking, I put those funky light bulbs into the fixtures, maybe light a candle and eat.

As usual, the Edster was underfood during the prep, tasting and serving.

Later on I was escorting the Edmeister to bed and noticed the sauce and Kool-aid along the fur on his back.

A few swipes of a wet wash cloth and it was good to have a white cat again!

I do not have a solid white cat, only colors with some white... BUT, I know better that to wear black around the house. Like Mama us to say, "Black grabs everything but MAN or MONEY!"

Lenny is not the lover as some of our others, pure all white, but he is the most vocal about food. He is almost completely deaf but can hear the refridg open from across the house. The thing is he does not want to eat, he just wants too check out what you are going to eat. ET the torty coon cat is the diva. She will growl and hiss to let you know when it is time to have loving, grooming and when it is time to stop. Always only on her terms

I HAVE NEVER BEEN GUARDIAN TO AN ALL WHITE CAT, RICHARD. I GUESS MR FLUFFY WAS THE CLOSEST AND HE WAS MOSTLY WHITE WITH A GRAY TUXEDO TOPPING. MY DEAR MOTHER HAD MISSY THE WHITE CAT AND SHE WAS HER FIRST MOSTLY INDOOR CAT AS SHE WAS DAEF, AND SHE LIVED THE LONGEST I BELIEVE 14 BEFORE SHE AD TO BE PTS.
AD LESTER WAS A GREAT WHITE CAT, BUT WAS OUT HUNTING AND WAS HIT BY A CAR ON OUR PROPERTY.
MAYBE ONE DAY A WHITE PORCHIE WILL NEED A HOME.
:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

My mostly white cat Orlando is a complete tender heart. She snuggles with me and is the most motherly of all my bunch. :) Here she is snuggling with a warm tea cozy.

Why is a white cat good to own?

A quick bath restores them to their original luster!:)

And you can almost see them in the dark too avoid tripping.
