I don't know if anyone has been following this lady's story but I saw
that today her misery has ended in her death. :( May she Rest In Peace.

This woman from France had an incurable cancer that had disfigured
her face & caused her constant pain. She begged to let her Doctor help
her die. The French government forbids euthanasia & denied her request.

I was so impressed when I read she had said she didn't want that
terrible disease to win, she wanted to at least have power over her body
for one last time. As a BC survivor, I certainly understood what she meant.

Reminds me of Sue Rodriguez with ALS in BC who fought all the way up the courts for the same right, and lost...and had help from a mysterious doctor and then-MP Svend Robinson.

RIP dear lady.

I dont understand, why make her suffer? she accepted she was going to die the doctors agreed why make the poor lady suffer with constant excuciating pain? She must of been so brave to go through what shes had to.

I think it should be the human decision, Fair enough you can understand from a mental unstable point of view but she wasnt.

RIP

I saw a before and an after picture - as one reporter said, one look at the newer pictures and the idea of an unfair law just shoots through your mind.

Her one eye was pushed out further than you can imagine - and, except for the iris and pupil, was solid RED. She looked like a bizarre sculpture...and to be in horrid pain (imagine your worst sinus headache magnified to an unimaginable degree) - my God, no wonder she did what she did. But - to her credit (and incredible courage) she tried to get legal permission to have it done.

I am sure she had plans made in case the appeal failed.

Rest in peace, Chantal. :(
