Mine's been leaking. I don't know why. But I clean it, do everything I'm supposed to do, and it's leaking all over my kitchen floor. I've had this problem before. So, I'm going to buy a new one. I know the Drinkwell's are expensive. I've had the PetMate for about 6 years now so maybe it's time to replace it, I don't know.

I have 2, not yet a year old. LOVE them

Where is it leaking FROM? Is the plastic bowl part worn? Or is it not level?
Hope you find a solution, the pets love those fountains!

I have a Drinkwell, and mine was leaking a few months ago. I found the source of the leak.... where the charger connects to the motor. Upon further inspection, I found the seal was bad. So I put some vaseline on it and it closed the seal and all is well!

I was also concerned that I would have to buy a new one, but I was able to solve the leak. Okay, truth be told, it was the guy that I was dating at the time! He found the leak at the seal and suggested the vaseline to me. I got some and tada!

You may want to try checking the seal before you purchase a new fountain! Good luck!

Are the kitties playing in the water that is spilling onto the floor? "Look what Mom gave us.... an INDOOR POOL!" :D   :D

I have 2 of them, not yet a year old each, and so far no leaking problems. The Fur Posse sometimes treat them as swimming pools, though  and that'll get water everywhere.

Whenever I clean it out, I am always thorough. But for some reason within 15 minutes of filling it, it makes that noise like it's empty and the floor is wet. I guess 6 years is long enough. Time for a new one. I'll save the parts in case someone on PT's pump or something goes or the well gets cracked.

Jeez, that is what Lucky is doing to our new one, and it is driving me CRAZY!!!!!! http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/rolleyes.gif http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/eek.gif http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/mad.gif

Every morning after his breakfast, and every evening after dinner he does the same routine......he has to paddle in there for who knows what, but after he paddles the water, (all over the floor) then and only then will he drink it!

We bought ours a few weeks back, and aside from Lucky's water facination, Yoshi and Taz enjoy drinking from it. We are real impressed on how quiet and simple it is.

Now, if we can only keep the kitchen floor - DRY!!!!!! http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/rolleyes.gif http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/wink.gif http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/biggrin.gif

Have you recently moved it? I found mine leaked when it wasn't on a level surface. I had no problems when it was level.
