View Full Version : Surgery tomorrow

I have my surgery and biopsy tomorrow. I'm nervous and scared. I've got myself worked up (I'm good at that ;)) so that I have a killer headache.... and I can't take anything for it because of possible bleeding during surgery. :(

Hopefully it'll be a benign something-or-other and tomorrow will be the end of everything. All I know is I love this new doctor and trust her implicitly. I really feel I'm in great hands and she'll do a better job than the last doctor who performed the same procedure 2 years ago.

{{{hugs}}}

This time tomorrow, it'll be all done...and you will have some wonderful pain meds from your doctor! ;)

Prayers that everything gets fixed properly this time.

Before my surgery, I was lying on the stretcher in the hallway just outside the OR, and I repeated a line of a doxology I knew from church: "Glory to God, whose power working in us can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine."

I love that line, and the power it holds for all...and I shared it with the surgical team before I was wheeled in, saying that to me, "us" was 'all of us' - me and them being all on the same team, to get me fixed and well. :)

Don't mean to wax religious - it's the 'big picture' feeling I get in that that comforts me so much.

{{{hugs}}} again. Looking forward to a good update. :)

Surgery is always scary. It'll be OK, and over before you know it. Prayers that everything comes out negative. Be sure to update us as soon as you can!

We're all praying for you. I like to say when I'm frightened "Nothing can disturb the calm peace of my soul". Looking forward to a good report....

Good luck and don't worry! All will go well. :)
The headache is probably stress related.
Stay hydrated today.
Have some chamomile tea and relax. It may help the headache too.

Probably too late for you to catch this note before you leave, but it is not too late for me to add my prayers for you to feel calm and have a successful, quick and easy surgery and a swift recovery. {{hugs}}

I can't hydrate. Not allowed anything -- no water, no tea. nothing, except oe swallow for my pills.

I plan on taking Cam fr a nice long walk if the weather allows (looks overcast)

Thank you all for your well wishes. I'm home and had a looooong nap. I feel GREAT. I celebrated the successful surgery by pigging out on dinner tonight. :p

I fell a hundred ties better this time than the last time. I feel as if I could go to work tomorrow. Amazing!

But... I'm gonna play the sympathy card for a few days. Hubby is doting on me and I must admit it is nice :D

Glad you are ok. :)
Sorry about the "stay hydrated" comment. I didn't remember that before most surgeries drinking anything isn't allowed. My goof. :o

Kim, I had no idea you were having any surgery or for what!!! I haven't been on PT much in quite a while ... just sort of sporadically! I am glad to hear that the surgery went well and you are feeling so good!

HUGS,

Glad you are back home with your family and that the procedure is over and done with. I'm sure the days leading up to it were very stressful.

Well, now you can breathe a sigh of relief. Relax and let hubby take good care of you for a little while. One of the bennies of marriage.
