Rachel, they got her from their next door neighbor. They had 2 pups left and gave mom and dad one.

And yeah, before anyone asks...that's a chain around her neck:o She's not tied up all the time or anything, but dad keeps it on her just in case he has to. And yep...unfortunately she's an outside dog. Luckily she does have acres of fenced in yard to play in and a nice big insulated dog house.
Not my choice, but what do you do?

Hey ~ don't *knock* it - that Chain Necklace is purdy darn Kewell! ;)
Otta make any would-be burglars think at least twice before crossing HER yard!

As for the "outside dawg" thing ... don't knock that, either!
My "Arrow" (long ago a RB Retiree :( ) was "hired" straight out of the Pound to be
our "Watch Dawg" ... and set up with a super insulated Dawg House with overhanging "porch roofs"
and a sun deck for a roof - pretty *posh* for a Pound Mutt!

He "worked" about 9 hours for 5 days a week ... HAPPILY *chained* (about 30 feet worth) to
a stake beside his "watch house" - on duty and IN CHARGE of da Ranch when nobody was home.

First one home at night had about 5 minutes to go in the Big House to powder a nose or
but packages upstairs - THEN it was time to cut Arrow loose ... or he'd start to *BARK* like
a dog possessed! He was OFF-duty and would let everyone know it!

Off-duty, he was a laid back House/Farm Mutt and best buddy with go-to-work dog Casey.
Arrow had "his choice" of sleeping inside (often ON the BigBed) or outside in (often ON) his house.
He didn't like sleeping "IN" if it was too hot. If he wouldn't come IN, I'd find him waiting
on his watch house for me to snap on his chain and plant a G-Nite *kiss*.

Living OUTside is NOT such a bad thing.

OMG, is she cute or what! She has grown a lot, I love that little pink & black snooter of hers! I hope your parents are willing to give her shelter inside in the winter if it gets really cold, as she doesn't have much of a coat. My furry pair prefer outdoor living, except when it thunders.... :rolleyes:

I also think given proper care a dog can live outside... mine are way way more comfortable outside, they just freak whenever they come inside, they just wanna bolt back out......silly dogs... proper care, shelter and food should be great even if outside....
