Something happened at work last night with one of our guys. Not work related but I really can't talk about it. Just a reminder not to take life for granted. In the blink of an eye, it can be gone. We're all very upset. I'm finally allowing myself to think about it now. I had to push it away while at work. Cherish every moment and try not to take even the little things for granted.

Val, I'm so sorry for whatever it was that happened to your co-worker.

{{hugs}} to you.

It's so sad that it always takes something bad to happen in order for people to stop and smell the flowers and enjoy life.
Thanks for the reminder!!

I know that I cherish my cyber friends here on Pet Talk!!

A few months ago while we were both working, we got to talking about dogs and photography and all. I told him I was an amateur photographer. He asked me how much I charged to take pictures and I got a laugh out of it. I told him I had no idea because I'd never done it before. He's got a Basset Hound he dearly loves. I was going to get him, his wife and dog in photos. I wish to God he'd gotten back with me. He's in ICU very critical. Don't know if he'll make it or not. All your prayers to whomever you believe in would sure be appreciated.

Tell your friend I am sorry, Val. In my case, I've been in a nursing home since late 2006. Before that, some time in the hospital.:(

I learned just a few minutes ago here at work that he's gone. He and his wife are strong Christians and he passed while she was with him. She's being a lot stronger than I think I could be. After things calm down, I'm going to contact her about making the photos of his dog that he wanted done. Life is short so life it with no regrets.

Life is short, so live it with no regrets.

Val ~

You should try to arrange for a photo of at least The Dog (or Dog + Wife)
in time to have it framed and present at his calling hours.

At my Mom's calling hours, framed photos of Cinder & Smokey, and little Lady (my high school Mutt),
were resting on her shoulder in the casket.

Val...I am really sorry to hear this...he was alive for a while, and I hoped he would make it after the first 24 hours.

I like Phred's idea about the dig pic for the calling (if they are having one).

{{{{hugs}}}} and prayers for his family and loved ones.

Val, I'm very sorry about your coworker. Life doesn't always seem fair.

Please don't feel guilty about not taking the pictures. I know it's not easy. With work and home and always things to do, your friend put the picture on the back burner. I agree with Phred, a photo of his pup would be a nice touch. I put pictures of the family, Cody and Logan in with my mom (among other things).

Not sure how I missed this earlier but I'm so sorry about all of this. It's tough to lose someone at any age but so young, that's so sad.
