LOL--I've been humming Fur Elise for days. Even catch myself tapping my foot at work to the tune.

It goes:

da, da, dum - dum, dum
da, da, dum - dum, dum
da da dum, da da dum, da da dum - dum dum.............

I think its a practice piece but as I don't play the piano.......

Hard to tell from 'da da dum's' but I know what it's like to have a song stuck in your head without knowing the name. Had that happen with Ride of the Valkyies once. lol

I'd rule out:

Bethoveens 5th, Fur Elise, Ride of the Valkies, Moonlight Sonota,

Best guesses (in order) are (with accompanying website for midi listening):

http://www.mfiles.co.uk/midi-files.htm (site to hear some of the songs)

Schubert's Marche Militaire No. 1

Scott Joplin's The Entertainer

Luigi Boccherini's String Quintet Op.13 No.5

Mozart's Minuet and Trio in G (K1)

http://www.geocities.com/Paris/3486/ (site to hear some of the songs)

Beethoveen's Rondo a capriccio Op.129, has a catchy chopsticks like tune.

Mozart's Sonata, in A maj K.331 Mvt. 3, also has catch chopssticks like tune.

Hope that helps some.

Denise, it sure sounds like Beethoven's 5th to me but I'm no expert. If not his 5th, maybe something else by him. If it's what I think it is, many commercials and other things use it here in the states. Good luck. :)

I was thinking something by Bethoveen but def not the 5th. Otherwise it would have went: dum dum dum dum, dum dum dum dum. LOL

Funny how reading a few da dums sorta gets your brain wheels turning doesn't it, considering you can't actually hear the person humming? LOL

Glad the OP found the song, now I've got to go look it up and hear what it sounds like. lol
