I had my pre-op doctor's appointment this morning. She basically told me I'm doing awesome. I've been focusing on eating right and losing weight (down 25 pounds now!) My blood pressure "couldn't get any more perfect" and my cholesterol is low. My insulin level is a 16, whereas it was 22 last year. I forget the numbers for cholesterol and BP, but those were also slightly elevated. Not any more! She said I'm doing great and to keep it up. Not only am I seeing a difference in how I look and feel, so does my doctor on a medical level. http://bestsmileys.com/medical/8.gif

The best part? The doctor thinks its just a pollop that is making the ultrasound look fuzzy. She's not concerned at all. Just go in an remove it.... I'll be back to work two days later.

So now my surgery is March 18th. I'll be going back to work a few days later. Woohoo -- I won't be spending my vacation time this year in bed! You can't imagine how much easier I feel knowing I'm not seriously sick. And now I know I won't have to "waste" my vacation time.

Do you mean your A1c is down to 16 from 22? That's really good, but still a ways to go. Are you on meds for Type 2 Diabetes?

You have done a spectacular job with the weight loss and all the numbers. Keep up the great work!!

I'm not sure what you're referring to. My doctor said I was doing great because anything lower than 20 is well within the normal range.

I'm not technically diabetic. I have PCOS, which can bring on diabetes if not watched. I know I was close, hence the weight loss and watching what I eat. I'm doing it all naturally with diet. I am VERY sensitive to meds. Anything that goes into me messes with me in some way or another. You should have seen me trying to find the right heartburn meds. No sooner did I find one that works AND doesn't screw me up, my medical insurance said "We won't pay for that!" Grrrr

Kim,

That is AWESOME news!! I hope you took before and after pictures.

I SHOULD get off my butt and do something, but alas, I'm too lazy.

I have a slight idea how you feel, having just gone through something similar with Sugar. To have it be yourself, not a pet, must be that much scarier, and yes what a relief when the doc says it is a polyp. Great news, great medical report, good for you! Hooray!

Kim, you sound better than you have in a long, long time. I'm so glad you had such a good report. I hope your procedure will go smoothly and you won't be down for long. But I'm also glad you are having it. As you might remember, my sister had very innocent looking fibroids removed a year ago and it turned out to be cancer. Better safe than sorry! By the way, my sister is doing GREAT and didn't have to have any further treatments.

I hope things in your home are going more smoothly. I'm not here often, which I hate, but I do think of you all often.
