Here is the latest fatality in the War of the Window Blinds.

Please don't yell at me for failing to cut the window blind cords short. The cats don't swallow them, just chew them off and spit them out on the floor. I predict new blinds will have to be purchased in the near future.

I HAVE REPLACED TWO SETS OF BLINDS OVER THE YEARS DUE TO CURIOUS CATS!
I HAVE GIVEN UP, THE BLINDS STAY AS THEY ARE WARPED BLADES AND ALL!!

My cats don't bother the cords much, just an occasional swat (I keep the cords gathered up in a clip at the top). The problem I have is they don't want ANY blind in the house lowered. They will go in and out and sometimes THROUGH the blinds so they can get in windows. The best I can do is buy $4-5 blinds from Lowes and the're cheap enough to just replace when they get trashed from bending/breaking.

It's not so much them chewing the chords. But when my Mollie Rose was 12 weeks old, she almost hung herself in my blind chords. So PLEASE think about cutting them short.
