Many of you Pet Talkers know Snoopy, Diana (4-6 Dog Mother) and Carl's cute lil Dalmatian pup
from Gathurins at the Findlay Dog Park - he's the little go-getter that always *smiles* and
loves to PLAY. Even more of you know Snoopy doesn't feel so hot these days. :(

Snoopy's had several threads detailing his illness and all the steps taken to help him
to feel better and resume his Snoopy Antics. The latest Thread is entitled
"Snoopy is Having Testing Done - Prayers Needed" located at:
http://petoftheday.com/talk/showthread.php?t=138216 (http://petoftheday.com/talk/showthread.php?t=138216)

Snoopy was taken to the Ohio State University School of Veterinary Medicine Hospital
on January 17 & 18, 2008, for extensive tests and consultations. It was an  "expensive"
White Coat Visit - but a lot was learned. Snoopy is back in Findlay and being treated locally,
with tips from the OSU Vets. His medical and prescription charges continue to  grow.

Some of us have contributed to other FurKid Funds in the past ... I'd like to think that
a few of us will find it possible to chip in a buck or two towards Snoopy's Vet Bills.
No hard sell here; no threats that "he's gonnna die if you don't contribute" ...
just a heartfelt request that you Help with a donation IF YOU CAN. :)

It's pretty easy to get your donation to where it's needed ...
SORRY - but the Clinic is NOT staffed to where they can accept PayPal contributions ...
BUT they will gladly accept USA Checks, Money Orders, "Checks by Phone",
and Credit/Debit Cards over the phone.
(Non-USA CHECKS will be a problem - it's very costly for them to deposit Canadian or European checks. Please PM daughter Amy ( Cincy'sMom ) for non-USA donations - she
can accept foreign donations via PayPal.)

Telephone or Mail your donations directly to:
Blanchard Valley Veterinary Clinic
1930 N Main Street
Findlay OH 45840

Telephone: (419) 422-3292 ... Hours: M-F 8:30am - 5:30pm; Sat 9:00 -11:00am

Make checks payable to "Blanchard Valley Vet Clinic",
mark the Memo line: "for Snoopy Kuhn Fund".

"Check by Phone" or Credit/Debit Cards - talk to the gal who answers the phone -
the Receptionist knows EXACTLY how to run the transactions and credit the
Kuhn Family account.

("Check by Phone" is easy - just have a check handy to give her your Bank's 'Routing Number' and your 'Account Number' - the long numbers pre-printed across the bottom of each check; Name, Address, and Amount. You'll get a 'generic' looking check processed on your bank statement - NO siggy required. ;) )

(IF you 'need' to use PayPal - contact Amy (Cincy'sMom) for instructions and an e-mail address.)

MANY THANKS to any and all who are able to donate
to the Snoopy & Friends Fund!!

>>> Dear "Mom" ~
We all know we don't "have to" do this - but we WANT to ...
You Guys aren't the 'only ones' who Love Snoopers!!

I do not have PayPal,

I will make a phone call http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/smile.gif

HOLD ON, Cap!

Living in "Down Underland", a 'phone call' to Findlay won't really help too much. http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/frown.gif

Findlay is a smaller city, not too close to an International Border ... there's not
much 'Foreign Tourist Trade' in Findlay - therefor the local banks will NOT process "foreign country" checks without adding horrendous processing fees which can total more than the face amount of the check! Small local businesses (like the Vet Clinic) are just not able to jump through the hoops to find a way to process a check their bank won't accept or cash.

On top of that, I'm not sure an Australian Check could even be processed by "Check by Phone".

I'd suggest you seriously consider joining PayPal - they've got some of the least expensive
"fees" to exchange currency to USA Dollars, and it would be an easy transaction for you and Amy.

Oh, I cannot use my Credit Card?

:o
Australian Credit Card ??

I honestly do not know if an Aussie CC will "spend" in the USA.

Maybe call your local Aussie Bank, or better yet, the CC Company -
and just ASK if their card is easily accepted and processed by a USA company.

I once tried to phone buy something from a Canadian firm, using my USA Visa card -
and they said NO, they did not accept "USA Cards".

I don't think I ever tried again - so I can't really answer the question.

But with PayPal you wouldn't need to make an  Overseas phone call! :p

I've been buying Revolution for my cats from a place in Calgary, Alberta - for more than a year. I have a USA credit card, order from Calgary, and the Revolution is shipped from Australia. They have always accepted the USA CC.

Thanks Phred - I buy on Amazon, so might be able to.
But I think I may as well set up PayPal - there are many times I could have used it.

Grace - thanks too :-)

Thanks for the info, Phred. Blanchard Valley was our vet clinic in Findlay, too, and they are such sweet people there. I know they'll do whatever they can to help Snoopy.

Phred ... I write this from outside the US.

Everything goes on my US MasterCard!

<hangs head>

I should have changed banks years ago. :o

New Bank says major brand cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express) are all
UNIVERSAL and can be used in ANY country where CC are accepted.
The merchant won't know from the card number that it's a foreign issued card -
till the holder's address pops up. Currency exchange rates are added to the
amount the merchant charges, but are reasonable.

Foreign CHECKs are a little more difficult; but many banks now accept them and
no longer charge "outlandish" service fees. A merchant might decline a Foreign Check
because of fears it may be impossible to recover anything if it "bounces". :p

For Snoopy - if you have any trouble - PayPal it to Amy.

PS:
I remember who wouldn't take my USA CC - it was a tractor supply outfit in Ontario, Canada.
I needed a part for 'Odd Job' - my Japanese / Kubota tractor - and the Canadians were
the only place that had it. They flat refused to accept "a USA CC".
I think they just didn't want to do the paperwork to *ship it* to the USA.

Thank you to everyone who is helping us out with Snoopy. I really feel badly that we are in a position that we can use your help but the last few years have not been good to us. When Carl's plant who he had worked for 26 years closed here, he had to take a job in Toledo (about 40 miles) from here which pays quite a bit less - we may have been able to move to another state but we find that hard to do now that our boy is laid to rest here. My job was eliminated in 2003 at the church I had worked for for 16 years and again I have not been able to find another job paying comparably. I guess we never know where life will take us but it is always good to know you have friends who will help you get through those tough times. That is the good thing about Pet Talk -we may not know each other in person but through here we get to know each other through the love of our pets and are ready to help when somone is in need. Thanks again for what each of you are doing. Diana, Carl and the pups

A *bump* with Good News!

This just in from Snoopyville >>>

Snoopy got a reprieve tonight.
The Vet is not ready to give up on him and has come up with another plan
to help him rather then say there is nothing else to go and maybe it is time.
When I talked to the vet tonight, she had some other thoughts about Snoopy -
good news as far as I am concerned.

She is also going to look into adding another anti-seizure that is 20% digested
through the liver but hopefully will stop some of these more frequent seizures.

Jack seems to be doing better also.
So keep those prayers coming. They seem to be working!!!!

We'll keep sending Prayers!

Hang in there, Snoops and Mom!!
