Hi All,

Please see my following post if you are not familiar with Pumpkin the cat from Pittsburgh!

http://petoftheday.com/talk/showthread.php?t=138510

Well she's 7.4 lbs. small baby. Her test for FIV/FELV combo tested NEGATIVE!! Yeah! But she does have ear mites so we will be treating her for them. She's a super sweetie, I felt so bad when she got the shots today because she has such little meat on her that it had to hurt....

Well and then on the way home she peed in her cat carrier luckily I was close to my mom's house and stopped there to get a fresh towel and to toss the other one...

Here are some photos of her...I will have to get another set of photos because she had to get a bath when we got home. She was brushed and she looks so pretty now and clean. (I will have to add the photos when I get to work in the morning).

Talk with you all later,
Melissa

She may have peed in the carrier because of stress... Amy does that every time she has to ride in the car because she stresses out so bad.

Glad to hear she passed all her tests and checked out healthy. Those mites will be gone and she will be so HAPPY!! YEA PUMPKIN!

Well I had a women who seemed very interested in Pumpkin and talked to me the other night about how she wants to adopt another cat and how she just loved the way Pumpkin looks and etc. and this morning I got this e-mail from her:

Melissa,

Unfortunately, something is going on with one of my cats...blood in the stool, yesterday, so I really think right now would not be a good time to bring another into my home. Here is a listing on the CL for someone looking for a kitty to love that will be there all the time. I hope you won't be angry, and will give her a call. The CraigList sometimes has some very good people. There are some bad ones, but you just have to weed them out, just like with anything. I am sorry. If something changes in my situation withing the next few days or week, I will let you know. Please call this listing...thanks Also the ARL is sponsoring low cost spay/neuter for $25 too. That was also list on the CraigList. Bye for now

I spoke it over with my husband and told him that I don't think even if she say's in a few days that she wants to adopt him that I don't think we should let her. I know you all might think I'm mean by saying that but how can I trust someone one minute and then the next they are taking back what they told me on the phone. Plus, I do have to say I was semi-conveniced that she wanted Pumpkin but then after how the phone call ended I wasn't too sure.

i miss my tortie trudy...i wish i lived close by.
like i need another...but i would if she was near.
prayers for her to get a nice caring home.
maybe there is someone close by you that is on pettalk for to foster her for a couple weeks.she looks like a love-bug.
i feel so bad for cats that are outside trying to fend for themselves...especially the cold weather...even the hot weather can be horrible for them.

A Prayer for Pumpkin, and All of the Other Dear Lost Souls who woud be Great Furr Ever Companions, if they were only given a chance. May One Day there be loving homes for them all.

I agree with you that if the women says her situation has changed and she can take Pumpkin, I wouldn't allow her too. What you are doing is wonderful, please wait until you can find Pumpkin the right loving home.

Oh I will don't worry. My husband even said today well maybe we will be stuck with her....he's like we have 6 what's 7 and I said honey...with Anika's attitude and her excessive grooming herself we just can't take in anymore...so hopefully soon someone will want to adopt her...I'm going to go around town tomorrow and start posting flyers up.

Maybe I'll get lucky that way.

Ta ta for now,

Melissa

It's been 2 weeks now and nothing. I put an ad up on Petfinder and nothing so far but junk mail. I'm going to put flyers around since I made them but I got sick on Sunday and have been just chilling out in bed since I got sick. Hopefully tomorrow I will feel better and be able to drive around a put up posters and then maybe I'll be able to get a home for her.
