View Full Version : Hairstyle - New photos Post #58

Made an appointment with mom this Wednesday to have my hair colored.

Got thinking about it, and decided maybe a new hairstyle would be nice. Started browsing and quickly found some styles I gravitated towards.

I tend to like long/medium cuts vs short (especially since it takes so long to grow out), but there is one short cut that I thought was really cute. Not sure how it'd look on me though.

Opinions, Comments, and Concerns appreciated. If there is a style you think might look nice that I missed, please post photos/links.

What my hair looks like now...

I like the last one, for what it's worth. If that's considered short, though, I wonder what my hairstyle is. LOL They're all nice but the last one is very chic and less fussy.

Thanks!

My hair is so thick that often short cuts like that backfire. My hair tends to poof out or has a habit of winging out instead of curling in to frame the face.

But maybe if I layer it to death it'd help keep that chic shape. :D

I voted for style 1. I even think the model resembles you

I think the last one would look great for you. :)

SURELY you won't  *cut* your Beautiful Hair!!!

In order >>>

# 3 LONG is GREAT
# 2 is good
# 4 & 5 I'd really have to get used to
# 3 SHORT is a bit TOO short
# 6 don't you have too much hair for that one?
# 1 ... nope - it looks like "dirty" hair
# 7  you wouldn't dare!

PS: There's NUFFIN wrong with they way you look NOW!

;)

I like your hair now, maybe just some long layers, for number one all you would have to do is some scrunching or curling on your current style it would seem to me.

Thanks everyone.

I know Phred! But you know... I've had 3 times now where the police have been behind me and no one has pulled me over! :p ;) Might have to rethink that "pretty girl with a custom plate" strategy. ;)

I'm just craving a change right now. :)

As for 7.... it'd grow back. :D

My hair does need trimmed regardless. Nasty split ends. The photo I posted is from December '06.

I've been considering a loose perm to get the look of either style 1 or 3.

Karen
01-28-2008, 07:43 PM
Yeah, I think a trim and loose perm would give you #3, long or the shorter version. I like the shorter version better for you, as it would have shorter layer just framing your face. And your hair seems thick enough to stand it!

Oh, and that last one would only work if you didn't mind hair on your face - it would drive me crazy! Anything other than bangs touching my face makes me wanna chop it off or tie at back!

I voted for one, it seems to be "you".

I was back and forth between #1 and #3 short. But the more I thought about it the more I think #3 short will look great on you. Go for it. :)

2 and 3 look the same to me... the curls in 3 are bigger than 2, but the cut looks the same, it would just all be in how you style it. But I like longer hair, and on your face I personally think it would suit you better.

I like 3 short and 7.
These threads really are good. I followed PT advice on what cut to get and I have to say that I am very happy with the results.
Good luck!

Maybe you need to practice the *Hair Toss* a littl more.

I like #3 the best. You would have to work with it each day to get that exact curl, but I think it would look nice on you once you were done. :)

I like #4 and #5 for you.
but if you consider 7 short then I'm with Medusa - I must have been bald for years!

I don't mind long hair but UBER long hair ick's me out..

#7.....it's just hair, it will grow back. I cut quite a bit of my hair off close to a year ago and I don't think I will ever have it that long again. Short hair is so versatile IMO. I will start my search for a new style here shortly and I am also thinking of some color. #7 will completely change your look and might surpise you how happy you are with it.

I'm planning on surprising Andy. :D He'd probably rather I not do anything to it, but then he's averse to change.

7 is probably considered a medium cut, but to me, that's short since my hair has almost always been at my shoulders or longer. :)

Thanks for all the opinions! :D

Barbara

I think you have wonderful hair - but as it is thick I think it would bounce more and have more volume around the forehead if it was cut short as in 7. And that would look cool and flattering at the same time. Right now it is pulled down by its own weight.
So I say- go for it- it will grow again.

I voted for style three short.
It's still long enough that your guy will think it is long sexy.
(some men like long hair no matter what)
Yet it is shorter so it will be easier for you to dry ext.

Kimmy,

I like them all, you have really nice taste!

Here are my votes/suggestions:

Style #3 SHORT: is my favorite and would look really nice on you, including the color.

Style #4 & #5: I like both these styles. The color is pretty, but it really needs some more dimention in the form of high- and/or low-lights. (Highlights are with a lighter color, as in blonde or strawberry blonde. Low-lights are with a darker color, in this case, dark red, auburn.) I think a mixture of both high- and low-lights would make this color look really nice. Multi-tones will make the existing color less shocking and a tiny bit more natural. This color is really FUN and it would be fun to play with the high/low-lights.

Style #7: I like the style...the color, as in #4 and #5 is too bland. It needs some high/low-lights in whatever colors you like. It would be pretty with some dark blonde and maybe even strawberry blonde too.

I can't wait to see what you choose and how it turns out. You'll look gorgeous and Andy will LOVE it!

Hugs, Kelly :)

:D

I picked a dark red for color and there are a few light highlights in. I didn't want streaks so we didn't leave the frost on long. :) I know it doesn't show up well in the low light but just wanted to show off the cut.

Mom said since my hair is so thick it won't look exactly like the photo, but we could even layer some more off once I get used to it. She didn't want to take off too much. ;)

Looks great! I wonder if it'll "fluff up" tomorrow, once it adjusts to the lack of weight! It'll surely feel weird for the next few days when you wash your hair, the "now where's the rest" sort of feeling! :)

Your new hair style and color look great.:) So did you save the hair that was cut off? If so maybe you could donate it to locks of love (http://www.charityguide.org/volunteer/fifteen/locks-of-love.htm).

You look very classy. Long hair is beautiful, to be sure, but it seems that men like it on women more than we like it on ourselves. It's a pain to take care of and as we get older, it tends to drag the face down. Of course, you're still young, so you look great no matter the length. I, for one, think you made a wonderful choice and you look sophisticated and upscale. Very, very nice indeed. :)

OH! That is an awesome cut! It looks fantastic with the shape of your face! Is it bobbed in the back? It looks it, and I think when you have thick hair, the bobbed hairstyle works well... creates a lot of fullness, rather than weighing it down. And mom cut it, wow! She did a fantastic job!

Regarding the Locks of Love question, no I didn't donate it. Mom didn't cut it off all at once, she only cut an inch or two off at a time. Plus I wasn't sure if they could take colored hair. Their site says they do now, so I'll keep that in mind when I grow it back out. :)

Kelly, it's a lot lighter when it's dried. I'll have Andy take photos in the daylight. :)
