Does anyone know of an inexpensive ISP I can sign up with once I'm moved to Michigan?? Right now I have USA Datanet but they don't cover that area. I'd LIKE to get one that is free (is Juno free??). Any help you can give me would be appreciated. BTW, I won't use aol as it's too expensive. I've been paying $9.95/month for unlimited use.

Thanks Popcornbird! I'll check the internet tonight to see what I can find. I've also e-mailed my nephew to see who he uses.

My sister recommended using Ask Jeeves for finding inexpensive ISPs and it (they?) came up with a bunch to check out in our area. Maybe it would help for you, too.

I currently use NetZero and pay $9.95 per month for unlimited use. I think that both Juno and NetZero still have it for free if you only use it for 10 hours a month. Good luck. :)

10 hours a month??? I'd use that up in one day! I did look online and found that Netzero seemed to be the best out of all of them. Actually, Juno and Netzero merged and they decided to use the Netzero name. I do have aol freebies disks I can use temporarily till I find one.

Thanks for your advice everyone!

Donna...EEEEWWWW don't go with AOL...that isn't even the internet and they are like Big Brother...they decide what you can and can't see on web pages and which ones they even say exist as well as being almost impossible to get off your credit card once you have the service. They are also notorious for not having virus protection on their email servers so viruses run rampant as well as having every imaginable spam emails. My brother-in-law had all kinds of porn ads that ended up attaching themselves to his hard drive and Mike had to go over and figure out how to get them off.

We have a cable modem, so I'm not much help being that we spend $40 a month, which is hardly cheap!! lol

Maybe Kim can chime in since she lives in Michigan. I'd suggest Leslie, but she's moving and doesn't have her puter hooked up yet.

Mugsy,

I know, I used to have aol and stopped because they're just too expensive. And, I had the same problem with porn. I was getting all these vile e-mails telling me what a pig I was for sending such smut. I couldn't figure out what they were talking about so I called aol. It seems that someone got hold of my e-mail addy AND PIN and sent 32 pornos to 300 of their closest friends under my name!!! I ended up having to change my screen name and PIN. It was a real hassle. Plus aol has gotten a little too big for their britches. I think I might go with NetZero. It's a subsidiary of Juno and is only $9.95/month unlimited.

Glad to see you're posting again Mugsy!! I missed you.

We are in Toledo and not too far from Michigan. We used to have Mindspring. I don't remember what their unlimited was, but I think it was reasonable. We now have DSL through our phone company and to borrow from Mugsy, it is hardly cheap! I too would say stay away from AOL. My parents do not like it at all ( yet they continue to use it...) :)
I think my brother in law used toast.net when he was in school in Michigan and think their fee is somewhere between $11.95-$15.95/month.

Good luck!
