Basement renovation

In my mom's basement, there are sheets of styrofoam on the walls to act as cheap insulation. My cats found them just wonderful for sharpening their claws. Mom was NOT pleased.

Hmmmm, I don't blame her. Can you take a piece of carboard or something and wrap it in rope? Then attach it to the wall in that place. Kitties will sharpen their claws on the rope instead.

Most Styrofoam Insulation is highly flammable - (burns very quickly) ~
and gives of very toxic smoke when it burns :eek:

It's only "safe" when it's covered by a fire-rated wall covering - such as panelling, or drywall.

So don't be mad at the Cats - they're just helping out as Junior Fire Inspectors.

Wow, I never knew that styrofoam was so dangerous! The wonderful thing about PT is there's always something valuable to learn. I hope the kitties didn't swallow any of it!
