Does anyone know what to do with bed pillows?

I bought new ones and the old ones have been laundered, washed and dried. I called 2 pet shelters but they don't take pillows.

I hate to just throw them in the trash!

Any ideas?

perhaps your pooches and kitties might enjoy them......

or you can use them to fill a bigger decorative pillow case......

See if a homeless shelter would accept them for their clients?
Freecycle them?
Have a gi-normous pillow fight?

See if someone crafty you know would like them to use the stuffing for stuffed animals! Church folks often are a good place to check.

Freecycle is amazing! I understand why matress' and pillows aren't accepted at shelters (people and animals) as they would require a bit of work to clean and sanitize. They probably wouldn't take your word that you cleaned them. Good luck!

Oh, that wasn't the issue with the pet shelter; they just told me they need LARGE size beds, and a bed pillow would only be good for smaller dogs; which we all know are seldom at shelters and never for long! And the bed pillows are too large for the cat cages.

I've always used them to make pet beds. Pull the stuffing out and use it in any size bed you want. Usually two pillows will make a large (think Collie size) and one will do two cat size.

Shelters are hesitant because dogs can unstuff a pillow and swallow the stuffing. Unless they use them for cats, it's a medical concern.

How about a safe house, crisis center, youth home or nursing home?

I use my old pillows to re-stuff the dog beds.
