I had a YELLOW BICHON yesterday.

Took Marlin and Lacey for their walk in the morning. Well, they found a GOOD smell, and so it was "sniff, sniff, SNIFF!"

I wasn't paying them any attention, just looking around, then before I realized what was happening --

Marlin turned, lifted his leg, and peed on the spot. EXCEPT Lacey was still busy sniffing there!

All over her head and left ear.

So she got ANOTHER bath yesterday.

She must have wondered when it clouded up and started to rain. By the time we got home, she was sulking, as she couldn't seem to get away from that OTHER SMELL!

What are they gonna think up next to drive me nuts???

(Sorry, no photos.)

Poor Lacey! Let her know that Skylar knows exactly how she feels. When he was a pup he was doing the same, just sniffing away, and Frisk took the opportunity to "mark" right ontop of his head, hehe.

Thanks for sharing, it gave me a good laugh! :]

I shouldn't *laff*, but Bipp & Bopp have "sprinkled" on each other so many times it's pathetic. http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/eek.gif

Cinder is a avid "Read the Mail" dog ...
She scans the landscape for a previously written "Pee Mail" and immediately hopps forward
a couple steps to <squat> http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/redface.gif and leave her reply ...

SmokeMutt trotts with his head up a little higher and often misses the older "mail".
But he *watches* Cinder, and if SHE stops, HE rushes up to check out the spot.
And he usually arrives and starts "reading" at just the instant she begins to leave her reply ...
Can you say "Ewwwww - wet nose"?

Cinder is no better ... If SmokeMutts manages to open a Pee Note first ...
SHE rushes over while he's bouncing around on three legs trying to get *aimed*. http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/tongue.gif
Yup ... His "reply" usually marks up her nose or ear pretty well. http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/eek.gif

And if that's not bad enough ... poor Smokey's **AIM** isn't always the best ...
He'll totter around on three legs till he's got everything "lined up" ...
and cut loose with a mighty stream that winds up washing his OWN Front LEG
from the elbow down ~~~ OMG! http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/tongue.gif
HEY DUMMIE ... can't you *FEEL* that?? http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/confused.gif
http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/rolleyes.gif

I should carry Handy-Wipes!

He he, Phred, you just couldn't stay away from this one, could you? Two hours later you had to come back! I just knew it was a PT story!

Perhaps one difference with Cinder and Smoke - they aren't white to start with, and they aren't long haired which acts like a sponge and soaks it all up! UGH is right.

Yes, Chocolate Puppy, they do keep me on my toes; and I wouldn't have it any other way!

Ah the joys!!!

Thank dog, my girls are black...the direct hits don't show up so well...

Earlier this fall, we were doing our reading program at the library, when Cincy had to go out very badly in the middle of the seesion. I has both Cincy and Spot with me, and took them both. Spot scored a direct hit on Cincy's head! I of course had nothing to wipe it off with, but had to take the dogs back in to the kids. I sorta wiped her head along the inside of my lower leg, trying to wipe it off where it wouldn't be obvious to everyone. No one commented, so I think we were successful, but the jeans went straight in the wash when we got home!!

I took Syd and Nebo to work one day and groomed them both, so Sydney was freshly washed....I took them out to the grass on my way out and Nebo POOPED right on Sydneys head. Nebo is considerably larger than Syd, so her head was pretty much covered...very gross but I couldn't help but laugh. :o She just stood there with a pathetic look on her face. Luckily I could just run back into my work and wash her off! So Sydney knows how Lacey feels!

I went horseback riding a few years ago with a friend and of course Keegan being the velcro dog she did NOT like Mommy up on that big thing, and she was RIGHT behind the horse - we stopped - Keegan was watching my friend and when my friend turned around on her horse my horse pooped on Keegan's head!! But thankfully they were road apple kind and bounced right off!!

Jenn I wanna know when one of your cats falls into the toilet! ;) Kylie jumped into the tub once when I was rinsing my hair after coloring it red. And my friend who has Kylie's sister Tome' did the same thing - and they called her Tippy for a lonnnnnng time!

On further thought ...

Cinder would have thought someone put a nickle in the Candy Machine and
punched her Favorite Snack ...

She'd have *had* the first falling "Apple" on the first bounce!

:p

They ARE funny! I am so glad to have everyone sharing their "been there, done that" versions. Makes me feel like I've been christened and I'm part of the family, he he. Actually, I guess it was LACEY who was christened but you know what I mean.

Only on PT can you share these tales and have people commisserate. Some of my friends immediately thought I should get rid of the dogs. Of course they aren't pet people to start with.

I had a kitten fall in a tub full of water once... but that was years ago. He was sitting on the edge of the tub, looking at it, like he was confused. Poor thing totally freaked out when he landed in water, not an empty tub, but thankfully I was right there to pull him out!
