I hope nobody minds me posting these .. I know I haven't been commenting on other's photos much lately so I feel a bit guilty for doing so. I'm just looking for feedback on these I guess. I'm excited about them because I am really starting to see improvement in my photos and I like the direction I'm going in, but I want to know how other people feel about them. I still have so much to improve upon but I think all of the photography "studying" I've been doing lately is helping (had to start reading now that I'm doing shoots for people because I obviously want the best shots I can get!).

Okay enough babbling now onto the photos :)

I love the "Got it!" picuture. =D You caught her at just the right moment!
Gorgeous pictures as always, though I'll admit I love the color pictures best. The setting and such you used makes the colors just pop. Don't feel like you should have to reply to everyone else's threads to post some of your own. I love seeing your pups!

Beautiful photos. It's really hard to pick a "favorite" because they all have different moods and emotions to them so it's hard to compare them to each other. But I always particularly enjoy the close up portraits. The lighting, colors and DoF is really beautiful in Buck's photo. I know what a challenge it can be to get nice portraits of a black dog. Again they are all beautiful.

Thank you so much for the great compliments, everyone!! I'm reading and reading and reading just trying to better everything about my photography so I really appreciate any critiques I can get - good or bad.

I was just looking back through these again and had to mention the other photo that really stood out to me that was this one:

I really like this one too. You really captured the excitement and intense concentration of Luka in this one. The flying labbie ears add some humor to it as well. I think you made a good choice in using black and white for this photo too. You really have a good eye and I enjoy your photos a lot :)

Wow those photos are all so amazing and clear! I wish my photos looked like that. And all your dogs are so beautiful. Your photos bring out the personality in their eyes. :)

I'm no professional photographer, but I think they are fantastic! Of course it helps when you have beautiful subjects! ;)

These photos are amazing!! Usually, I don't really like tilt photos, but yours look great. I think in the last picture, it would have been cuter if you had gotten their paws in it too, and not cut them off. Also in the "got it" photo if you would have had it rotated the other way so you got a full body shot. Also, the one of Luka sitting with the frisbee in the background shouldn't have been tilted. :) I feel rude being the only one to post bad critiques. :o Don't get me wrong, they are all STUNNING photos. :D

Thank you so much everyone! :)

I agree with you there! I wish I had gotten them in too, unfortunately they move so fast that it can be difficult.

Also in the "got it" photo if you would have had it rotated the other way so you got a full body shot.
I agree there, too. The reason it's vertical vs. horizontal is that I was taking pictures of her jumping up after the flippy and on that throw it bounced and she went after it, I didn't have time to tilt my camera the other way.

Also, the one of Luka sitting with the frisbee in the background shouldn't have been tilted. :)I actually prefer it tilted :) But I appreciate you saying that, obviously it's just preference and nothing else. But this is how I learn what people like and don't like, so I appreciate it!

Don't! I need critiques no matter if they are good or bad! If everyone I encounter says that my photos are fantastic I wouldn't have any desire to improve them. But the fact is they just aren't that good in the professional realm and I have a lot to learn and improve upon. I don't really expect to get real critiques on a pet forum but of course I'll take any I can get. I post on a Canon forum too and I get a lot of feedback there, sometimes it's really not what you want to hear because a lot of people are overly critical at times but really, that's how you learn. :)
