Hi all sorry I haven't updated yet has been a busy few days, but I hae a bit of time before the dentist so......................

Jasmine arrived fine on Monday, spent some time in Brians office at Delta, till we could pick her up.Brian said she was sweet and quiet and very relaxed while in with him, he let her out to use the "facilities" and fed and watered her she ate well so I guess she doesn't stress much from jetsetting!

She arrived home still calm, and I allowed her to take her time coming out of the crate, it didn't take her too long. She is a bit shy around the other cats and the birds yet and prefers to hide either in the cat tree holes or the bathtub. She will be seeing our vet on Friday, (and yes I know she just saw one but I always like to get my vet to get the paperwork and let me know if they are really doing ok) She is eating well but as of now is eating quarantined as the goblin and Woe are very happy to share but she is not! and being a bit thin she could use it nore than the tubby gremlins can!

I am sure she will setlle into the bustle of birds and Kitties and kids fairly quickly as she has a lot of interest in them but with Io gone she IS the oldest sister now!

Well thats it for now, will get pics up soon as I am able.

Kym,

I'm so glad she made it there safe and sound. I hope she does put on more weight since I think Tonya said the vet weighed her in at 7.5

Thank you again for all your help in this,
Melissa

What good news! She apparently is a jet setter, eh? So glad she isn't stressed out. I'm sure she'll get a good report from your vet, too, and I'm anxious to see the pix.

No pics yet as Jassy is at the vets, her diabetes was not controlled and she began to crash, she is with Dr Pope and in good hands, her weight loss should have been a clue to her other vet (not placing blame on owner as she had not had a diabetic kitty before).

Jassy is on an IV drip and and is having blood tests done to regulate her issues, our goal now is to stabilize the diabetes before she comes home, PT prayers are greatly appreciated. I will if it isn't too graphic take some pics of her in the hospital, as they are a mile away I walk there twice a day to visit.

I am confident in Dr Pope, I have known him for years, and I am certain with some intensive treatment she will pull through, but it is a touch and go situation. I am glad I made the appt before it was needed, as he caught the signs of her crash during a routine exam.

For those of us (myself included ) that benoan our vet bills at times, this is what it is all about! a vet that sees what we don't she hadn't been here long enough and it could have been fatal.

Feeling like the worlds worst cat foster

All the changes and stress may have brought this on. The least change in routine gives my Dad trouble with controlling his diabetes.

Prayers for Jasmine that all settles down quickly!

It is a real blessing that the vet caught her condition and realized she was crashing. She is in good hands now and hopefully, she will bounce right back. Do keep us posted.

I've never had a diabetic cat, just one w/CRF and I know that stress can make Puddy crash, so I imagine that the same can occur w/diabetes. We'll send out mega prayers that all will be well for Jas and you.

I am so glad the vet caught her "crash"!!!! Poor little thing. Glad to know that your vet was on top of things.... before he even knew this new little baby!

Please.... you are not a bad foster meowmy. In fact, you are a great one since you took her in for a check and you took her to somone who was able to catch her problem before it became too severe.

Many prayers coming from me and the girls in Indiana that all is well with Jasmine and she is in your loving arms again soon.

You are not a terrible foster mother, Kym! Jasmine desperately needed a home and someone to love her, and who came to her rescue but you! And now that she's just arrived after a stressful trip, you took her to your wonderful vet who immediately picked up on the fact that she needed some extra special care. And now she is getting it, and we are adding our prayers to those of all the other PT folks that Jasmine recovers and is stabilized and comes home soon!

Love, purrs, and hugs,
Peony, Sydney, Poppy, Elmer, Pat, and Priscilla Angel who is keeping Jasmine company at the hospital

How wonderful Jasmine went to a foster mom who took her in for a check right away - and now she is being treated!

Poor kitty likely got a bit dehydrated on the plane - I know I sure do!

Give her some hugs and scritchies from me....SOOO looking forward to pics! :)

I feel so bad that I didn't take Jasmine from her owner and get her to the vets and get her medical treatment before Tonya sent her on a flight to you.

Your vet sounds like a good vet and I hope Jasmine pulls through just fine.

Thanks all, Steve (Dr Pope) called this am he may release her today, if she begins to eat on her own. So far she isn't.

Melissa, it IS not your fault, I spoke with her owner when she arrived to discuss the cats medical records she chose to decline insulin for her nearlya year ago, her vet records show she had been treated at the vets for diabetes management, it just wasn't kept up at home. Now I am living proof that PT prayers work... Jassy needs them so I ask them from all of you!

Jassy can't lose when we are all in her corner!

Melissa,

Kym is right, do NOT blame yourself. Kym, if it weren't for you taking Jasmine, she would've died otherwise. So, blame the owner who after years of having this cat KNOWING her life depended upon insulin, decided she didn't want the hassle any longer and pawned her off on someone else. Shame on them.

At least now Jasmine has a chance at a great life, forever how long that may be.

I'm so glad Jasmine is doing better.

How does that previous owner sleep at night? So sad to withhold insulin for over a year. I'm surprised her vet didnt turn her in for animal crulity.

I pray that lady doesnt get anymore animals.

Thank you all so much, I will be calling the vet around 11 to see how she is, and how her night went.

Candace I think I will sneak some smelly tuna in for her!

In April according to her vet records she was on an appetite stimulant,Cyproheptadine 4 mg 2-3xs a day, so obviously this si not her first crash :(

I will let everyone know what the Staff says as soon as I know!

You don't have to ask for prayers for this sweet girl; we are willing and happy to do that for you!

You did the right thing taking her in for a checkup. A pox on that former owner who probably exacerbated her condition. How could ANYone do that to a sick animal???

Jasmine went into full renal failure at Dr Popes sunday night, she did not make it through the night.

Melissa I am sorry we couldn't have done more for her sooner! Things may have turned out differently had I been able to get her here sooner.

RIP Jasmine, and Play hard with Io over there, he will show you the ropes I am sure!

Thats So Sad Just As Jasmine Was Going To A Beautiful Furrever Home.
We Were Hoping That Jasmine Would Be All Right Once She Found Her Home.
Shes Now With Her Friends Of The Pet Angel Army As Tyler Has Purrsonally Escorted Her To The Best Seafood Place In All Carracas.
And Her Sprit Will Visit Your Home Where She Would Have Been So Loved And Shes Made You Her Family For The Day That You Will Meet In Love.
One Fine Day.

This was from Tonya. I told her what happened.

Kym has not told me anything. What happened?

It wasn't that I couldn't afford the meds. It was
that my work schedule did not allow me to administer
the medicines. I would not have been home to give it
to her and the vet here said she was better off not
getting the medicine then missing any doses.

I told Kym that she was not currently on the meds, but
needed to be. That is why I was looking for a new
home for her.

Please let me know what happened.

Please understand that both Melissa and I were originally told it was money that kept her from giving the meds, Jasmine weighed 15.8 in april of this yr according to her vet record of her last visit......she arrived here at 7.3.

Melissa I am sorry that we both were lied to, but I do not find lack of time an acceptable excuse from this woman.

Thank you for allowing us to love her and help her if even for such a very short time.
She is buried with Io under our Oak in the back yard, where she will be thought of often and thanked for time with us.

Thank you all who helped us pray, and blessings on all of you

Tonya needs her butt kicked.

What vet would tell her it's better to not medicate a sick cat than to get it treatment it needs?! That sounds like a load of crap. If she had time to take care of herself, she had time to give 5 mins. morning and night to that poor cat to get the proper medicine in her.

It comes down to the fact that she just didn't care enough. I so want to kick butt right now!!

Melissa kindly forwarded this on:

As soon as I get a way to scan and post her vet records (as we have several techs on the board that can translate them for the rest of us: I had Dr Pope explain them to me) I will post copies. here is the latest info Melissa and I now have,

Kym,

I just got this e-mail. Please feel free to post this on the thread if you want.

I feel so awful and to blame. I feel like maybe the
travel was too much and she just wouldn't eat b/c of
the new situation. The weight loss worried me
everytime I went to the vets, but he said he was still
a healthy weight and we didn't need to worry about her
weight. I took her to Centre Animal Hospital. She
was still such a very happy cat.

Also just to let you know, she was not diabetic in
April. She was on appetite stimulate b/c we changed
her food and she was not eating well. She did not a
have crash then. She didn't show a high blood sugar
level until June.

I wonder if she would have lived if I had just kept
her here. Poor Jasmine, God rest her soul She will
be in heaven with her brother Milo who sadly past last
year.

Thank you for your support. I am so sorry things
turned out this way. Did she eat at all after she
arrived in St. Louis? When you say she was crashing,
what exactly does that mean? I hope she did not
suffer.

Kym is not a bad foster mom, I should be responsible
for what happened.

Please send this along to Kym.

Thank you so much.

Oh Kym, I am so sorry to hear about Jasmine. Tonya is the most irrresponsible pet owner I've met yet.

Kym,

You are a saint and Tonya should be greatful that she had you to take Jasmine.

Tonya,

Instead of making excuses for why you couldn't care for your own cat, you should be thanking Kym for going out of her way to help Jasmine when you refused to.

Melissa,

You have NOTHING to be guilty about. If anyone should hang their head in shame for failing their pet, it's Tonya. I just hope to God Tonya doesn't try to adopt yet another pet.

RIP sweet Jasmine. You were loved.
