"Have you noticed that dogs are the new kids? You take a walk with your kid and your dog, but nobody says, "What a cute kid!" Instead they say, "What a cute dog! What's his name? Is he a rescue?" Maybe if I put a collar and leash on my kid, someone will notice her."

LOL, my Mom used a harness and leash on my little sister--it was actually made for small children. Let's just say she was handful!

Its funny... my roomie and I went to Home Depot last week, I took Noba and she took her oh so adorable two month old son with her. Noba was riding in the big part of the shopping cart and her son was in his carrier on the front of the cart. Everyone that passed commented on how cute "the hound dog" was, but not one person mentioned anything about the baby... :eek: :D

Cookiebaker - That is adorable!!

I hope people did not think I was implying these devices were a bad thing. Just that I've seen them used in an inappropriate manner sometimes.
When I walk with children and want to keep track of them, I have them hold on to a belt loop or part of my clothing so I can feel them at all times.
But whatever works! :)

I like the sign I've seen that says:

Dogs welcome, children must be leashed. :D

That is so funny! I got the same cup months ago and saved it. I have it sitting on my desk. I'm thinking of varnishing it. And it's so me, too.
