What do they all have in common?

Well, I woke up this morning and looked for the Edster...

ED?

ED?

I checked the windows, the doors, the rooms and all his hiding spots.

ED?

I hear the dogs bark.

ED? I do a patrol around the house, check more windows...

ED?

I go to my mom's house!

ED?

ED?

*&$^#$%#, ED?

#^$%^$* Aw, crap where is he?

I look again and in the corner, on the bed, near my head, where HE NEVER EVER SLEEPS, is the Edster.

Coiled up into a little bitty ball hiding in plain sight. Of course he's used he magical powers of Cat-moflauge to make me roam the area looking for him.

I took some deep breaths, waiting for my heart to slow down and the cold sweat to go away and climbed back into bed with him....with an arm close, so I could make sure he didn't slip away.....

My cat is allowed to go in the fenced yard when we are home and it is light out. He has a prior injury so he won't climb the fence. There have been a few times I couldn't find him and I get all scared and worried. Yesterday I was calling for him, and he usually comes, but he was nowhere to be found. Finnally I dig out the treats, shaking them and yelling "Treats!" He comes out of the spot and cries to get one. Cats play a great game of hide and seek!

You're a smart kitty, Ed - keep your dad in shape! Next time, make him run around the block, or even better... to the store to get some treats for you! ;) :D

I refuse to run around the property yelling "TREATS".

I do it in a very small voice, lest the neighbors hear me......

;)

Me run around the block?

Ed goes over to my mom's house to hang out. He'll sit at my front door and cry....look at me.....cry......look at me....cry some more.

Hokay, You can go hang out. I escort him next door and let him enjoy the day.

It's kinda like Kit-der Care.

He sleeps all day in the same spot. I can go to the back door and see if he is hanging out.....His spot is lying on the threshold of the front room and kitchen, Half on tile, other half on carpet.

I don't see him....I open the backdoor, walk in and look around. No Ed anywhere....

I stumble around her house and walk from room to room, Finally,I ask my mom, "Where is Ed?"

Right there....

I look down at the floor and fast asleep in the clean WHITE laundry is the Edster.

---------------------------------------

I did walk past him twice. But I caught him on the third trip.

I am not going crazy, I am going blind.

Awwww, Dad! What a nice guy Ed is! He chose the appropriate color laundry for his nap. At my house Cassie chooses the whites, too, and leaves grey cat hair all over my clean laundry. Thanks, Cat.

I was thinking about Ed being hidden in plain sight. I used to cat-sit for my sister's two cats, and their favorite place to nap was in the sunny family room. I remember one time I got to their house, looked for the cats in that spot and didn't see them. I went all over the house, looking and calling for them. I got back downstairs and was just about ready to panic when I saw a Siamese paw dangling off the edge of their favorite chair. The two of them had been there the whole time.
