I wont be naming the baies yet as I dont know who is who lol, nor do I know for sure their genders. however at this point they all appear to be females...so how about throwing out names. we can go with a parental theme as there parents are Sass and Jorden(Sass Jorden is a singer/CI judge) so perhaps a musical theme?

Ok first let's just get this out AWWWWWWWW ok now to the names...

Idk why but I really like the name Jasmine for a gerbile ((wow I butchured that spelling, idk, but my mind isn't working tonight)) I know it doesn't have a theme really, but yea. and I really like Joy ((From My Name is Earl I ♥ that show lol)) I'll be thinking for more! Sorry if this kinda doesn't make a lot of sence I'm so tired today.

Aww! They are so cute.
Looks like 2 of them are going to have light colored eyes, and the other is going to have black eyes.

I'm not good at suggesting names, but I can't wait to see what they look like when they start getting fur.

yup, daddy has red eyes and mommy has black eyes. these 3 will be 2 red eyes and a black eye. the dark eyed one's skin is getting darker and darker as she gets older. we are hopeing she is a nutmeg, as the colour pattern of a nutmeg is they start bright pink and slowly get darker and darker till you would swear they are going to be black, then they do a total molt and wind up this bright gold colour, so far that is the pattern this gal is following lol.

Those are baby gerbils? Oh wow, I've never seen them before! When does the fur start to grow in? Do you have to remove the father from the area? How fascinating!

fur begins to come in around 9-12 days. daddy does not need to be removed, Gerbils mate for life. I dunno what would happen if we removed daddy as he is doing most of the parenting lol poor guy always looks so tired as he is taking care of the babies, AND taking care of there mommy! mommy is doing much aside of nursing.

Personally, I find that so wierd! I remember in Kindgergarten our gerbils kept mating, but the dad was very vicious to the gerbils! We had to remove him! Glad to hear he's being such a good daddy :)

its completly safe to hold baby gerbils, and I have been holding newborn gerbils since I started breeding them 12 years ago :) its reccomended to wait at least a day or 2 only because the really new borns skin is very thin, but as long as your careful its not an issue.

Cute! I miss gerbils. But I've too many rodents right now to add anymore to the mix. I hold baby mice at day one, so long as the mom isn't stressed-all is well.
