This is Pepper, he's a 4 1/2 pound mini poodle. He belongs to my neighbors and they went on vacation till Wednesday and asked me to check on him a few times a day. He has a doggie dog so he can let himself out to potty, but they knew he'd love someone coming to visit once in a while.
The funny thing was when we started talking about them leaving was that they kept saying "Because of his age we don't really want to stress him out in a kennel... etc Because he's getting old and slowing down..."

I asked how old he was (expecting him to be 11 or so) He's only 6!! I laughed at her and told her he's still a pup!!!

I went over with my morning coffee and watched the news with him, he enjoyed every second!

Wow, as tiny as he is, they could have fit him in their luggage. :D
I'd be afraid to leave that little guy home alone. Someone might steal
him out of the yard. I'm glad you are able to spend some time with
him, I know he'd appreciate it. :)

Oh Angie he is a real cutie patootie!! I would say, at 4 lbs., he is actually a toy poodle. Ripley would tower over him at 14 lbs. and Ripley is a mini. :) I love the idea of a doggie door but, like Lizbud said, I would be afraid someone would steal my two so I've never put one in. They'd go with anyone. :o Also I am afraid that I would come downstairs one morning to find some kind of critter in my house.

I will be going away the first weekend in November to attend my son's wedding in northwestern PA. My next door neighbor will be coming in to feed all of the critters and let the pupsters out. It is so nice when you have someone close by who you trust. I know Bella and Ripley will be stressed to the point of not eating. I have had to stay overnight at my daughter's a couple of times, and hubby says they don't touch their food while I am gone. Has Pepper been eating?

Those two nosy dogs next door are a riot! LOL! They just want to know what mom's up to! LOL!

Aw, Pepper is lucky to have you stopping in! I feel guilty leaving the CATS alone for a few days, can't imagine trying that with a dog!

Pat, Buddy sees Pepper as a squeakie toy Sierra just wants to play with him. I've tried asking them to let Sierra play with him, but they are afraid she'll hurt him. Even though I know she won't, I'm not going to go behind their backs and take Sierra over there when they're not home.
(Oh Sierra would be in heaven!!)

Funny thing is that my hubby is more nervous about Pepper being home alone than I am. Pepper's not outside very much, and he HAS dragged dead animals in the house before!!

Thanks for the correction Pam, yes, he is a toy. Pepper's owners told me that he doesn't eat much dog food. He eats a lot of table scraps and treats  They left me his bag of food out (Kibbles and bits!!! ) 2 bags of treats and told me there is lunchmeat in the fridge for him.
They filled up his food bowl when they left Thursday night and it looks like he's only about 1/4 of it.
No matter, he's a VERY happy boy when I come over!!
I'm home sick from work today and my 2 are crashed out asleep, so I think I'm going to head over there now and watch some TV with him now.

I am sure when you got home you got the "where have you been" sniffs from your curious two. :D Hope you are feeling better.

Pam and Rhi, thank you and yes I'm feeling better!

Barry, Pepper gets the rowdie neighbor dogs all worked up by speeding out of his doggie dog, running up and down the fence line once or twice, then speeds right back in the house! :D It's quite funny to see a 4 1/2 pound dog getting my monsters all worked up!!
