I finally got around to doing something with the feathers from the mystery bird I posted about a while back. Its going to take two frames but I'm going to make a thunderbird symbol with the shorter flight feathers and tail and then another arrangement with the long flight feathers and the little body feathers. Here's a pic of some of the feathers. The longest flight feathers are about 6". The tail feathers have forked "pins" on the ends. Anybody want to take a guess yet as to the bird species?

Info...
Species: ?
Location: Sheboygan, WI
Date found: fall 2006
Other: caught by predator in wooded area, no body found

EDIT: I never would have taken a second look at this bird species, having passed its picture a million times and only seen a top view of the feathers. I've even seen several of them in real life, though maybe not this variation. Take a look http://www.wbu.com/chipperwoods/photos/nflicker.htm
