Before you go read the below link, please be warned that it's extremely upsetting. There's also some really horrible photographs which made me cry and almost throw up, but something desperately needs to be done, so I cannot resist posting this here. All it takes it a few minutes of your time to mail the email address at the below link, and the conditions for these poor dogs might get better.

Here is the link: http://peta.org/alert/automation/AlertItem.asp?id=374. But please, be warned... It's really horribly bad.

Thanks for reading, and I'm very sorry if I made people upset (and I know I will)... But I just had to do something. I've written both emails and real letters about this and I just want something done for these poor dogs and the more people who write, the better... Sorry once again.

And just as a side note, emailing the president and saying "I hate you! How can you let dogs suffer like this, you heartless bastard!" is NOT going to do any good. The below is what I wrote in my email:

Your Excellency,

I have just read about the horrible conditions stray dogs in pounds have to endure. I read about it here http://peta.org/alert/automation/AlertItem.asp?id=374 and this is also where I got Your Excellency's email from. I hope something will be done in the near future to improve the conditions for these poor creatures. I find your country to be wonderful and I have visited it on numerous occassions and I would hate to let this ruin my image of your country.

Thank you very much for taking the time to read this.

With all my respect,
Annette Jönsson Sklander (from Sweden)

Now, don't go copying my email because then they might stop reading them all together since it's not very personal, but this will atleast give you a hint at how to write a meaningful letter.
