Anyone ever made any of these. This was my first time, then I was hooked and made three in three weekends.
This first one is for my daughter, she loves anything with cherries on it.
The pictures are little on the big side, but wouldn't have been able to see it very well otherwise.

This second one is for my mother in law

Very nice job. They look great. Did someone teach you how to make
them?

Her Mom taught her (ME!) .... Not that it is hard to do... I made my first one just by looking at the one my sister made for me and asking a few questions..

Hay Rie!! I LOVE that LSU one!! That one did come out great and Casey is going to LOVE IT!!! They are going to love those! I can't wait to hear what they think of them...

The most important thing to remember is to prewash EVERYTHING first, then clean your lint filter OFTEN when you dry it the first tseveral times.

Really, I didn't know she was your daughter. :) Anyhoo, my Grandma
(dad's mom) used to make patch work quilts all the time and I always
thought they were so pretty. Always thought these homemade quilts were
extra special to have. :)

Those are awesome!! I can't believe you made three quilts that quick  I can't seem to make a quilt in a year myself
I've been wanting to try the rag quilt but I haven't done one yet. :)

...I LOVE that LSU one!! That one did come out great and Casey is going to LOVE IT!!! Laura ~ Thanks for explaining this one. For some reason, my eyes went to the yellow instead of the blue. I couldn't make out any letters. Now that you explained it, I can see it perfectly!

If I have it correct, you leave for the Mighty Miss on Thursday. I leave for Prudhoe Bay on Thursday. Wanna trade? :p

Oh My~ Beautiful Rag Quilts!!!

I've been wanting to make one for quite some time.!!!! I need to have more flannel on hand ( just a big stash of cotton here).

Gee whiz,I have plenty batting on hand!!!! I know I can do it!!!

I'm destined to creat one , or two, or three....., These kinds of quilts are show stoppers, because they can be done in a WeeK!!!!They are so cozy and Beautiful too!!! (no hand quilting ;) )

Your rag quilts look sensational!!!!!!!

kuhio98- I leave in the morning.. Crew change on my boat is on Wednesdays. I must turn down your wonderful offer as I do get paid to ride on that boat.. I need the $$$$$$... I also got confused when I first saw the picture and had to study it a while before the LSU popped out at me.

Dorothy39- You don't use the regular batting that you use in regular quilts, you use the stuff that looks like those felt squares... It comes on a bolt and it is cut by the yard and it is white.

Also, you CAN make them out of cotton fabric! That middle one is made with cotton and not flannel.... just on the back is there flannel. Just as long as the fabric will rag when it is washed...

Well, I have to admit that the LSU quilt is my favorite - I know he will love it.

But I am a USC fan - so you can imagine how hard it was for me to admit that!:D

These are just lovely. I'm not creative at all, but I'm almost tempted to try this. No wait, that impulse is fleeting - I'd have to buy a sewing machine. Oh, well, at least I can appreciate the efforts of others.
