At the company I worked for (am waiting for the buyout and another offer), there is a lot of spam. MS Outlook is our default email (YUCK).

Anyhow, I have used the Rules and other stuff pretty well...but a lot still comes in.

What would you recommend for spam control - freeware or not?
(Freeware for NOW, anyway!)

I have seen SpamAssassin, and loaded it onto my computer....maybe I didn't install it or something, because nothing has happened.... ;)

Ideas welcome! Thanks!

http://www.spamfighter.com/Product_Info.asp That one is free for private use, haven't used it (I use Linux) but have heard good things about it.

Don't forget to install it after you download it! :)

Candace,

I use Spy-bot. It's free and I run it once a week just to be on the safe side. Just go to:

http://www.spybot.com/en/index.html

I haven't had problems since I installed it.

Thanks, Donna - but I think Spybot is for spyware...and not to block spam in email? Maybe there is a version I am not aware of - let me know.

I have a Spybot scan that I do run about once a week.
