RICHMOND, Va. -- Nearly all the dogs seized from Michael Vick's property in Virginia can be saved.

That's according to a panel of dog behavioral experts assembled by the ASPCA.

A motion filed Monday in U.S. District Court says that 48 of the 49 remaining pit bulls have placement potential. They fall into five categories that include eventual adoption and special training for law enforcement work.

The panel recommended that just one of the dogs be euthanized because of its aggression toward humans.

A judge will decide whether to grant the motion or deny it.

Meanwhile, Vick and three co-defendants in the case are due in Surry County court on Wednesday to be arraigned on local charges.

They've already pleaded guilty to federal dogfighting charges and are scheduled to be sentenced before the end of the year.

I saw this scrolling across the bottom of the tv screen this morning. I thought it was a little ray of sunshine in the midst of all of this horrible drama.

I guess I'm the only onew upset by this. :( I love pitties, and work with them weekly now. But I believe fighters should be euthinized, no matter how "sweet" they are. I really hope they never snap, and nothing triggers the abuse they went through- because if they do attack someone or someone's pet that just makes the breed look worse. I wish them the best though. I like another person would like to see vick strung up by his _ _ _ _ _ and then neutered. :p lol

It looks like he is going to make a lot of money after he gets out of prison...

But look, the dogs even have a blog... I can't imagine taking 4 dozen dogs and having to teach them how to be family members, to live in a home, receive petting and hugs, play with toys, go for a walk on a leash, things like that. I think these people that are working with the dogs are doing a great job.

I truly hope that they're all adoptable and adopted. What a tragic life these poor dogs have had.

I hope the NFL makes a good call here. And, if they don't, I hope the fans of the team that Vick goes to will rebel. I know even bad press is press...but, what team would want him?

I realize that this is a matter of semantics, but the dogs were never
socialized in the first place. That is a big part of the problem.

Well, good point! I keep seeing those little pit bull puppies in Petsmart that the most dangerous thing they might do is lick you to death! Poor things.
