This is what happens when you start to make a sandwich in our house.

A group gathers.

LOL! At my house, the "stand on your two back paws and try to help mom" is a given when sandwich fixings appear. Especially deli turkey. But I really like the crowd! They are precious! Everybody wants some lunch, I guess.

What adorable photos! It's amazing how long cats can make themselves when stretching up for food. :D

LOL! What cute pictures! They're all very patient too - except one dog can't make up his mind whether to go for it or not. :D

Hope they got some treats in the end! :)

:D What great pictures. I'm glad I only have 4. Even at that, I've not had an entire tuna sandwich to my self for years. I don't mind sharing though.

Thanks for sharing with us!!! :D

That's hilarious...you should send it in for a dog contest. You sure do have a houseful...lol.

LOL! Squeak is not too much on "people food", but break out the tuna and it's a different story!

When Ellie was alive you COULD NOT open a Hickory Farms summer sausage without him showing up. We used to try to open them different ways just to see if he would still come. No matter how quiet we were, he was always there!

Ozzy is 14 and no longer believes in standing in line. He says it is his senior discount to get some of whatever is being passed around!

From a 2004 Posting >>>

I always "share" with the FurKids...
sometimes UN-knowingly http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/rolleyes.gif

Former (RB http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/frown.gif ) Shepherd/Husky Shadow became a bit of an
opportunist after her adoption off the streets -
she'd apparently learned to never pass up a meal when opportunity
presented itself...

I'd whipped up TWO giant Dagwood-style sammiches -
LOADED with meat, cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and mustard.
Shadow lay on the floor in the kitchen, *watching* intently...

Sammich Construction complete, I had a Major Brane F@rt and
decided I just HAD to do ?something? in the basement -
grabbed a quick *byte* of Sammich #1 and returned it to the
plate - sitting on the kitchen counter.

Returning, I grabbed the plate and moved to the dining room -
*wondering* why Shadow wasn't in sight and *begging* for her *taste*.
Hmmmmmmm... http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/confused.gif

I MADE TWO - did I eat one ALREADY???
Finished off Sammich #2, saving a smidgen for Shadow -
who ignored my call of "Wanna Byte?" ... *strange*

As I was rinsing off the plate, (*wondering* WHY I was still HUNgree
after eating TWO giant sammiches)...
I http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/eek.gif stepped in sumpin *squisshy* under the counter... http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/eek.gif

A Close examination revealed ~~~
..One Tomato Slice,
..One Lettuce Leaf,
..Three Pickles,
..and a small smttering of Bread Crumz -
all piled up under the kitchen cabinet toe kick / overhang...
http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/mad.gif

"Oh SHADOW, Dear - please come HERE!!" (NO response!)

She was located - UNDER the BigBed - frantically *thumping* her tail
and *licking her chops*. http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/rolleyes.gif

We marched back into the kitchen and sat down to *discuss* my
findings of what she apparently didn't care for on the sammich menue...

I swear I head a distinct Dawggie *BuRRp* mid-way through
our *discussion*!

LOL, I know that scene well. My guys shows up at the first sound of the loaf of bread being opened or the meat drawer being pulled out.

Great pictures! Anyone owned by a pet can really apreciate them. Very often when I'm cooking or preparing a snack, Groucho seems to come from nowhere to observe and supervise. It's really strange how a few bites just seem to fall on the floor.

What a riot! I hope your dad managed to get a few bites of that sandwich! :D

Yup, no matter how quietly we get out the sliced turkey or the treats, they show up seconds later. If you get it out, they will come!

I laughed like a fool over your pictures!
