While walking to class this morning I noticed a bunch of tiny flags on the green. I didn't have my camera but I went back around 7:30-8:30 tonight to take pictures. There are 2,999 flags, one for each person who died on that day. A candlelight vigil was held while I was there, and it was very touching. I just wanted to share, as I thought some might enjoy the tribute.

I really like the graphics on the sign.

Very tasteful and incorporates the happenings of the day.

Great pictures Sarah. Here on campus they did a similar thing and little flags were spread out over the lawn.

I appreciate you posting that. It is a good feeling to know that I was able to capture the beauty of what was portrayed in real life. That's all you really hope for in photography :)

We will never forget what they did to us on that horrible day. Attacking us on our own soil...

I saw an article on Yahoo.com about people doing volunteer activities and making a point to commit random acts of kindness on 9/11. I think this is a fine idea, and should be carried forward to remind ourselves that not all human beings are dirtbags!

Those pictures are gorgeous, Sarah! I love the first one where you can see the college in the background. What a nice memorial.

Thanks. Alyssa, that one is my favorite too. The funny thing is it's not a significant building at all, it's just a dorm hall. It is gorgeous though.
