Our visitor has taken to a lovely new habit.

In addition to what I've posted on this thread (http://petoftheday.com/talk/showthread.php?t=132687&highlight=litter+box) , he peed on a towel yesterday.

He has been crated. That seems to help, even if for only a couple of days. What I plan to do is do a complete litterbox change out every two to three days. I will keep all stray clothes off of the floor. And, obviously, clean up the mess. I've already changed back to clay litter from Feline Pine.

Beyond that, I don't know what else to do. Troy is taking the peeing well. I am just confused. Lynx is pretty healthy albeit a little bit... fluffy. :P He's not stressed or anything by Spanky or Isis. I mean, they're not a big group of cuddle buddies but there's no hissing, growling, fighting, etc., at all. I actually feel kinda bad, though, that they don't cuddle. Feels like I'm doing them a disservice?

Anyways! :D Does anyone have an suggestions to curb this behaviour?

First question: Is the cat fixed? Not being fixed can result in bad litter box habits.

I would rule out infection (visit to a vet).

All the other stories/suggestions in that post you hi-lited are all good advise.
So, I'd take a moment and re-read the posts on this subject, you will get loads of good ideas/advise from others with same problem. litter box (http://petoftheday.com/talk/showthread.php?t=132687&highlight=litter+box)

Hmmm.....I have no idea what to do. I have never encountered this problem, except when I confused the kittens by moving the box, but that was easily fixed.

sorry hun, wish I could help.

The best advice I've seen is at the Cats International Web Site:

http://www.catsinternational.org/articles/housesoiling/index.html

They go through everything. Good luck.

Im sorry you are having peeing issues. Sometimes Spook will go on a rampage for NO apperant reason. Sometimes I think all it is is her expressing her displeasure, unfortuneatly she can't tell me what the problem is exactly :p and of course I don't see every little interaction between the cats.

I hope you can find out whats going on soon!

I'm sorry that you're having this problem.:( How many litterboxes do you have? If you only have 1 or 2 then I'd get a couple more. I'd also buy some cat attract litter (http://www.petsmart.com/product/include/print/standard.jsp;jsessionid=Gj2JgHp46BVW94TjRv75SGkZBp MYqTGdV1Hp2psnQvx8LGSQ3nnk!-409700386?productId=2751734). You can buy it online or at Petsmart.

When I was having peeing problems, I added 3 more litterboxes and then added cat attract litter on top of my old litter. It worked right away.:) I've also been using Feliway plugins and spray and this also seems to make the cats more at ease. I'd also take him to the vet to rule out any health issues. Good luck.:)
