I know that someone had mentioned about receiving e-mails with the subject as ; "You've received a Post Card or A Greeting Card from......"

It is confirmed by Snopes that this virus is REAL......
Here is the link for you to read up on it:

I myself, have received many of these e-mails over the past month and thankfully had the sense not to open any of them.

Thats the beauty of running Linux! I opened it & downloaded it to my computer and never even knew there was an virus in it! It never harmed my computer though after i sent it to be scaned on an online virus scanner was when i found out. It never executed so it could'nt infect anything. Linux dosent use .exe files & it cant execute them so it cant catch windowz viruses.

I read the snopes site. Apparently there is one that is a hoax that says CNN announced it: http://www.snopes.com/computer/virus/virtualcard.asp

And one that is a real virus but was NOT reported by CNN etc. http://www.snopes.com/computer/virus/postcard.asp

Apparently the two are getting intermingled in emails and confused. Either way it's best to be cautious about clicking links to e-cards in an email.

Yes, the "Virtual Card" one has been around since 2002, this new one started this June.

I really don't understand why people get such a joy out of doing things like this. Boggles my mind.
